Why is “Trials of The Nine” STILL MIA?
It literally made people play when there was nothing to do. Why is it still MIA?
Edit: I just mean simple things already in the game are missing like Trials, Faction Wars, etc.

Because Bungie hasn’t been able to replicate the secret sauce recipe that Destiny 1 Trials had. I don’t partake in PVP myself, but the general consensus that I’ve reached from listening to various posts here, and on Reddit, as well as various podcasts, is that Trials of the Nine was a pale imitation of Trials of Osiris. There are numerous variables to consider here, map size, team size, game mode, weapon/super/ability balance, TTK, etc. Knowing Bungie, rather than bring back Destiny 1’s Trials of Osiris ( which all you PVP people liked ), they are going to spend a bunch of time and resources trying re-invent Destiny 2’s Trials of the Nine, and there’s a 50% chance they’ll cock it up.

Won’t be coming back until the next paid DLC. Guarantee Trials will be back in it’s 3v3 glory provided you reach for your wallet. This is how Bungie rolls.

4 RepliesBungie is extremely slow when it comes to development, I’m sure coming up with a new interesting idea could take months or years for them, and it would take even longer to implement. So a new version of faction rallies and trials probably won’t appear until late this year.

Factions and Trials is Destiny’s identity and I just wanted to know why something already in the game is blocked. I wouldn’t play Trials if it was back today, but Destiny 1 was all about talking smack about anyone in a different Faction than you, and chasing flawless on weekends in the process. The [b][u]real[/u][/b] question was not about Trials. I was actually asking why everytime we are given something (like Gambit), it is only done if something else is taken away from us at the same time. There’s never actually expansion, just swapping one thing out for another and acting like we are benefiting by pretending the thing taken away doesn’t exist. Trials was just a good example because players that like it benefit with “their fun” and Bungie actually gets people logging into their game for once.

Vanilla Destiny 2 was Bungie's best effort to create a game with sandbox that was balanced around the needs of competitive PVP. .....and everyone hated it. Also Trials brings TONS of headaches and consumes TONS of resources....for an activity with a very small player engagement. TLDR: If they brought Back Trials...all you'd ever see is stacked teams of OEM-wearing Titans, skating around the map with Dust Rock Blues, pinnacle hand cannons, and Wardcliffe Coils. ...and nothing else.

There aren't enough people playing in the Crucible and have not been for a while. They do not want to remove any additional ones.

Trials returning in this meta would be horrid anyways but it still should be in the game at the very least just put in what we had at d2 launch. It wasn’t great but it’s something. Not like they couldn’t say any issues that arise with it will be ignored and simply have that mode replaced once they’ve finished revamping it.

2 RepliesI'll tell you right now trials will not return with the current state the meta is in right now or rather the current state of the crucible is right now if it does at all during this meta they are literally idiots. Hunters and titans are meta right however with one eyed mask getting a fat nerf there will be less titans in crucible. Hunters have literally been meta for 5 seasons. When there is a specific class that becomes meta there is a problem. You literally do not see warlocks in crucible right now. But that's just the experience I have had. Part of it is the fact that nova warp was nerfed. LH/NF are literally the number one most used weapons in crucible right now. Followed by Dust rock and Wardcliff. I've had people I personally know who have gotten LH/NF tell me that it needs to be nerfed. I've had people also tell me that they dont cause they actually require skill to use and you have to hit your shots. Are you kidding me nearly 80% of people that play crucible will land those shots no problem. The other 20% not so much. This game has not been balanced from a competitive, tournament/esports/pro league standpoint. No body plays quickplay casually they play it competitively. Matches literally get so one sided it's not even funny.

As much as a few of you miss Trials, it didn't seem to be bringing in the numbers like back in D1. Along those lines, I really miss D1 raids that weren't mechanic heavy dance party/synchronized swimming events, but they don't really seem to going back to that either With Forsaken they wanted to push Gambit as the new shiny thing. With "Season of the Drifter" coming, they probably want to push Gambit even more.

I know a lot of people didn't really care for Faction Rallies, but I kinda miss it; it was at least something to do, and a fairly easy way to get engrams. I hope they bring it back soon.

It’ll be back but why want it now with such a low player population? I guess maybe to have a place for the cheaters to go to on the weekends....yeah I that’ll be good.
