  • I especially like the players that tell others how to play. Things like, the Last Word is only good for pvp so you don't need it or don't want it. If someone feels they need or want something, that's their prerogative and everyone else can just shut the f up.

    • i would give it a 50/50 Bungie is killing this game. - the segregation between PVP and PVE just proves one thing. They are completely unable to create a game that is stable enough to please both the casual players and the hardcore fans across both game types - PVE & PVP. a History of poor decisions, and lack luster attitude towards their community means that their interest is strictly commercial, and as a business that makes sense so why would the community be any different? there is no UNITY in this community anymore. that is where the problem lies, because Bungie has been riddled with poor decision making since the Launch of D2, driving the wedge between casual players and hardcore fans even further. DO you remember the days as a new player having a higher level guardian help you through an event? - do you remember when you were a higher level guardian, and you helped lower level guardians out? - do you remember your matches in crucible, the excitement you had, and learning from defeat? do you remember it, when you use to blame a loss on your Lack of skill and not the weapon or ability that needs to be nerfed? do you remember evolving as a guardian, in gameplay and your thought process to think more logically about encounters in PVE / PVP to make you a better player? or do you remember the NERF THIS and NERF that because people are just too reluctant to adapt, and learn from their mistakes.

      • Actually, Bungie killed this game. The "elitists" just suggested and condoned it. Well congratulations, now only the "elitists" are left to continue playing this franchise. Most others have just moved on.

        • Sadly, this is so true. The new management under PP has gone the direction of ALL competitive. They have no understanding of PVE endeavors. People hate PVP bc they don’t want to compete. If they would simply get rid of all the timers it would open up everything to all players. That would unfortunately ruin their schemes of forcing you to join a clan or other good players to complete objectives. Everything Bungie seems to do now involves schemes to manipulate us to stay by forcing us into situations where peer pressure will be a factor in our leap off of this elitist hamster wheel

          • What’s killing this game is the community. “My partner and I gave birth to a child and named him cayde” or “must have 3.0 K/D just to play with a team in comp or better yet raid teams that say “we love helping new players” oh sorry you don’t have 50+ raid clears yet we’re kicking you! This community is why I don’t -blam!-ing play anymore. Filled with trash shit and filth. From the bottom of my heart I hate you all

            • They only played the game the way it's laid out Bungie killed this game and very soon they will only have the people they deemed they made the game for and like the game. But the numbers will never be enough to keep this boat afloat. Other developers have now had the time to copy what worked and actually pay attention to things bungie has done wrong. Once there is more options at our gaming time etc they will be done. Look at these forums . There is a mass amount of bungie lovers that attack anyone that express a dislike on their game The amount of people that silently moved on and stopped trying for change is apparent. Not sure how they don't see what's about to happen but this games had more than ample time to become great and it's done the very opposite. Most the people standing up for bungie never even played the thousands of hours we loved in D1. They believe this is as good as it could be because someone told them they should think that way. Well til Anthem or whatever comes along. I'm once again playing Warframe and loving everything they have added since the last time I played. FOR FREE.

                • Sadly it's looking like this is going to be my swan song. I'll play what's left to play (No Raid & most likely no nightfalls, no PvP by choice) and when I'm done, I'll move on. They want to give this game to hardcore players, want to ignore those who just want to have fun, so be it. I'm tried of screaming into the void. "I looked into void and there was no one in there to look back."

I am not a lover of the crucible BUT that has not always been the case. Only the crucible and iron banner are geared to the elite. To fix that add the sbmm back to the crucible. Iron banner needs to stay as is, with levels count. But introduce a lockout if you are under a certain level. Both the iron banner and crucible in D1 were great fun and also the crucible early D2 before sbmm was turned off. The elite just annihilates the lower skilled and then they think they are elite. Put them against same level players and then see how they fair. Higher skilled should play higher skilled, lower skilled play against the lower skilled. That s a more balanced way to play. Having the sbmm stops all the problems with having to do the crucible for certain quests it makes a more even playing field. No need to take quest away from the crucible if it is re-introduced. Edit. BL00DBEARD GR1M makes a valid point and I agree "or do you remember the NERF THIS and NERF that because people are just too reluctant to adapt, and learn from their mistakes" Nerfing has to stop it ruined D1 and has started to do the same to D2. I do however think Luna needs to be looked at.

                      • There's healthy competitive elite scenes like Halo had and what CSGO has where the players do create a divide in the playerbase but it doesn't ruin the game and instead pushes a lot of people to get better and not have the result the Destiny community had. And then you have negative elite scenes (elitism) which ruins the game even for the skilled players who don't no life, understand its a game, and aren't pricks. Destiny is at the top of the list with League of Legends for having some of the worst elitism. Thats only one issue with this community though and Im very tempted to make a post addressing all the issues within this community. Then again that'll take like 20ish paragraphs because this entire community at almost every corner is horrible.

                      • I'm not a huge fan of Crucible, but that's because I refuse to take it seriously--I just play to have fun; there's no point otherwise. Raids are sadly something I don't have time for. I just think there really isn't much for fun until an update or event hits, and even after a few days of that, it's back to square one. I kinda miss when I wasn't capped and had more to do outside of collecting exotics I'll never use. At this point, I feel like everyone else who's moved off to other games to find that sense of fun again.

I hear ya. I've been playing this game every week since House of Wolves came out. All through year one D2, all through the first few months of the year before the Challenge of the Elders came out, when they were giving out emblems just for logging in to play. I have serious played a ton. Mpre faithfully than all my more "hardcore" friends who got bored all the time with the game. But it is such a slog now. I STILL don't have a single piece of forsaken armor yet. They seem to have tuned this whole system to require you to only play destiny all the time to really keep up. That is silly. I love this game. I hope they change it. Find some balence between elitism and casuals. I don't care that I don't have everything. I don't need lunas or not forgotten. I don't mind that there are elite rewards for the few. But seriously don't hold out a major part of the game, like exotics, and artificially increase the grind with extra power level just for the sake of keeping people engaged. I play this game bc I love the gameplay. The gunplay. But having to jist grind for some undetermined amount of time to MAYBE get a game changing exotic is super lame. I have gotten countless chest of alpha lupis. Countless of those titan fusion grenade pitcher gauntlets nobody uses. I have 5 cerberus +1s (fun gun). No forsaken armor. I probably won't even get to try out OEM in pve until after it is nerfed to oblivion. D1 was never this bad. I hope Xur becomes relevant next season, because seriously with all these new games coming out it feels crappy to stick around. I have stuck through alot of slow times, but the artificial grind stuff is getting old. I love destiny fellas. Make it fun again. Less grindy. Elite rewards are fine. Just don't lock out huge game altering things, like exotics, so painfully behind rng. It seriously screws alot of us over.

                      • Cmon guys. Its an effing video game! We're all supposed to be having fun and working together, not insulting one another, and helping each other out. Elitists in ANY game are garbage because, they're the ones that cause the huge rifts in the player base. (This isnt the first game I've witnessed elitists run into the ground). Newcomers are shunned and not helped while the elitists sit all high and mighty. Then those newcomers say "screw this" and leave, making the player base smaller and smaller and etc. While elitists might think thats all fine and dandy, eventually their precious alternate reality will come to a close when Bungie stops making money. Its even more hilarious when an elitist thinks these are actual real world accomplishments. "I'm better then you because, I spend 14 hours a day on Destiny and I have more shiny virtual not real things then you." That sort of attitude makes people like me with families and real-life rewarding experiences and responsibilities just laugh. Elitists need to step off their high horses and realize that they're the laughing stock of the community. Its a v i d e o g a m e. If an elitist went to a job interview and told the boss that they had 60 SOTP clears and an Anarchy, that boss would laugh in their face. I like harder activities just like the rest, but I'm never opposed to helping anyone new and I don't brag about my accomplishments like they're the Nobel Prize or something. Nor do I exclude anyone unless they're severly underleveled. As an example: so what if I solod the Throne? I dont go around telling people to "git gud" if they've never done it. Instead, we (hubs and I) offer to teach the Throne to clannies if they've never done it. Thats just one of the MANY examples. Helping new players accomplish something is the true reward IMO. My husband and I actually left a clan full of elitists to go be in a more chill clan, with people who actually have real life responsibilities. Do you know what a breath of fresh air its been? More experienced players ACTUALLY helping new players? Newer players and expierenced players getting along? Who would of thought? Get over yourselves elitists and stop ruining everyones fun. One small thing. I don't consider an elitist someone who accomplishes harder tasks in the game and puts time in. I consider an elitist someone who does all that AND has a high and mighty attitude about it. Please don't mix the two.
