I’ve seen art and stuff about him being a hunter but apparently he’s a titan, which one is it?

3 RepliesHe WAS a titan. That is indisputable. When he became Dredgen Yor he was none of the three classes because he wasn't a guardian anymore. He became something better. Something more pure.
-
He started out as a titan but by the time he was known as dredgen yor he had become a hunter
-
He's a cosplaying Titan.
-
He’s a titan Rezzyl Azzir or something but he didn’t want to taint his “memory” so he changed to yor

At the time (which was the dark age) there really wasn’t a rigid class system yet. Yor was established as the “first Titan” before he turned evil. At the same time the iron lords has begun their rise to fame. Warlords also existed ‘en mass so evil guardians were a very real thing. Due to this lack of a rigid class system the man before yor (not gunna bother spelling the name) was the “first Titan” so it’s safe to assume that a fluid class system is not unimaginable. In Destiny and Destiny 2 we have classes for sake of gameplay but I’d imagine that in reality guardians could learn how to wield any power they wanted. The players have gotten new powers 3 times now so to assume that in universe guardians couldn’t do that same but with whatever power they choose seems odd.

I remember reading the grimoire cards in d1 about him using solar abilities. That was before titans had the hammers so I assumed he was always a hunter. Bungie changes everything at will so I stopped keeping track lol
-
Rezyl Assir was a Titan who disguised himself as a Hunter.
-
Titan because he gets whacked.
-
3 RepliesHe was a titan but he switched to hunter when they put in blade barrage.
-
He is a hunter.......who was once a titan.
-
He’s a Titan but I feel like Bungie did that just to troll Warlocks and Hunters (there was a long standing argument about whether he was a Warlock or a Hunter. Him being a Titan wasn’t even a consideration lol)
-
No no no, he was a florist who was a Titan but felt like a Hunter trapped in a Titan’s body so he had trans class surgery to turn into a Hunter, but all those Titans hormones are always acting up and goes into a Hunter killing spree.

A Titan who identifies as a Hunter. The T in LGBTQ stands for Titan.
-
shes both.

5 RepliesHe is/was a Titan. He took the guise of a Hunter to help trick others into thinking he wasn’t his old self. He didn’t want the hope he built as a hero to be tarnished. For various reasons. Now that he’s been Dredgen for so long, I’m not sure the class types apply to him. Shin says the same about the Drifter too. There is a way to shake off class based limits apparently.

Before he became Dredgen Yor, he was originally Rezzyl Azzir. A noble titan sworn to defend the city. However, after the transformation, Dredgen Yor was...different. He wasn’t a warlock, Hunter, or Titan anymore. He was his own thing, yet he resembled a Hunter more than the other two

A fake hunter
titan Pretending to be a hunter
-
He is a titan who masqueraded as a hunter
-
Before he became dredgon yor he was Rezzyl Azir(spell check?). He was a Titan, when he became dredgon yor he (from my understanding of what is said in the anthology) did everything he could to disassociate himself from Azir. Dredgon yor is more associated as being a hunter.

Neither. He's not a Guardian anymore. His original self was a Titan, but now he has no class.

3 RepliesEdited by Foxhound: 2/5/2019 10:07:45 PMDredgen Yor, formally known as Rezyl Azzir, was among the first wave of Guardians resurrected following The Collapse when they were known only as Risen. Shortly after his upbringing, he began the code of a Titan, but it wasn't until he discovered a new path following the events of a hive encounter on the Moon in which he named himself Dredgen Yor. He renounced himself as a Guardian; thus, he is neither a Titan, Hunter, or Warlock. Looking at the art in the grimoire, he seems to dawn the armor plates of a Titan (perhaps his old armor) while also dressed in a Hunter cloak (which was an item you could acquire in Destiny). With that being said, there really no definite answer to this question because Bungie has never directly stated whether he's a hunter or not, but I believe the most reasonable answer is that he doesn’t belong to any class. To add to that, guardians are defined by their light and when they forsake or corrupt their gift, they are no longer a "Guardian" or light bearer per se. UPDATE: It seems most people are sound on Yor being a hunter, but I think there is too much evidence in the lore that would say otherwise. You could say he adopted the trade of a Hunter and that wouldn't seem to contradict the lore.

9 RepliesFirstly, back during those days? There was the concepts for the classes. Dredgen Yor basically belonged and looked similar to a Titan in the sense of his armor, wore a cloak like a hunter, and delved deeply into the void like another certain warlock. He really didn't belong to any one class. Second, he is widely recognized as a titan for the most part, so just utilize that. Third, remember that all of this is ancient, ancient history by now. The last city, major construction of the wall, early camps of people outside the wall, ect. is why civillians are forbidden currently from leaving the Last City. The fallen are not the only threats on earth presently. It will be 100 more generations of guardians before we completely eradicate the enemies of humanity from this planet and the moon.

Titan I think.
