Would that work though? I mean meta’s come about because they are the most efficient tactic. If you had 2 guns that handled the same, had the same TTK but the only difference is range. Would anyone use the close quarters weapon? Or would everyone use the 1 with range and just camp their spawn and shoot from distance. Personally I think all that would happen is the meta would change and still only a couple of guns would be used. Which I don’t mind, a 3 tapping MIDA would suit me just fine. But that’s not really what your after is it?

  • I would like to see them take those two guns, telesto, and wave splitter out of the game for a week to test the meta. Nerf shotguns to 4m max one shot kill. Buff flinch for snipers and have lower zoom scopes. Buff autos to bygones ttk but decrease the range. Reduce supers but not drastically. Make it about gunplay and not which super is OP at the time to win games. I feel like you would see a lot more different guns being used competitively. I am a fan of the blast furnace pulse. Two burst for a ttk of around .75. Its much more difficult to land those two burst than to land the shots needed for luna optimal ttk. It has range over luna but not not forgotten in most cases. It has a higher ttk than luna but a larger skill gap in my opinion on console. Possibly make the two burst more reliable for 4 burst pulse rifles. Aim assist or something. If luna is not nerfed in the game. I think camping in the map would be mostly in quick play. Mida and Jade is in a good spot now after the buffs. 3 crit 1 body for Mida now I believe. Most of the time the teams that camp will always lose the match. Good teams can close the distance and push with heavy. Competitive doesn't allow for much camping because of heavy, map size, and objective game modes. I think 3v3 with these maps would be great though. Especially for snipers and scout rifles. I am still attempting to get Not Forgotten. Just because I enjoy PVP. I don't feel like I would use it though. The gun puts me at an unfair advantage over the vast majority of the player base. It's like knowing the play of the other team for me. Luna isn't bad because of the range drop off but it's still a problem because it can have its optimal ttk at pulse rifle range and no other gun can compete in it's intended range. I just remember at the end of D1 there was a lot more variety in the crucible and each gun could compete competitively with each other. If luna and not forgotten was at the end of D1 there wouldn't have been that variety. Why I think those guns are bad for the game now.
