I've noticed around the forum that people are calling our characters Godslayers. An example is people saying that we could kill shin. I doubt that because it took 6 of us to kill Oryx and the rest of the raid bosses.
Can I get an explanation on how we strong enough to kill shin and any other guardian within the lore

3 RepliesOryx in the material world, made a civilization that weaponized a black hole extinct. Crota, singlehandedly in the Material world killed 100s of guardians including Wei Ning (who could move a mountain with a single punch) we killed both in the Material world solo and in their Throne World with only six people (a legion of Vex couldn't even win against Oryx in his throne). Hell just to make a point, on our second day as a guardian we killed an Eliksni Archon in a matter of minutes from arrival. later we went on to kill many powerful Eliksni threats that the whole Vanguard had been trying to kill, and guess what we killed all of them except 3 alone, one of them in a team of 3, and 2 of them with the same team of six that killed Oryx.

2 RepliesShin doesn’t know how to PVE, and is probably a shotgun crutch in crucible

Change your pfp
stop
Well...why do you think we can’t kill Shin to begin with? Being powerful doesn’t mean your invulnerable.

That is a raid. That was Ascendant Realm. No guardian could possibly solo kill Oryx in his Ascendant Realm (even though people have done that). Lore wise that would not be possible. But, we did solo kill Oryx in our world/realm. That is a feat. We stopped the ressurection of Crota. Defeated the Black Heart of the Black Garden. Defeated Ghaul (not in God form though). We defeated Panoptes, which could be similar to Oryx. In an area it has full control over. But with the aid of Osiris of course. But we couldn't kill Shin. Know why? He would never kill us. He says in the lore books I believe it is that he has always seen things in black and white, good and bad. But after seeing/hearing of us or whatever (We used multiple weapons of sorrow without being corrupted...), he finally sees a little Grey. A weapon of light who can utilize the darkness without being corrupted. He isn't going to kill us for that reason, as we are a beacon of hope for that reason.

1 ReplyIf we can't kill Shin, then why is his bitchass scared of us? Not a Dredgen, but he better not get in my way...

1 ReplyTook one of us to kill the vex 'gods' in black garden, kill crota before he could return (also raid could be done solo), one of us to kill Oryx's shadows and Oryx himself, one of us to kill Ghaul who had the collective power of who knows how many guardians, Panoptes would have been killed alone if we had our own way of destroying his shields without Osiris, killed a hive worm god (Valkyrie optional in final fight), and beaten shattered throne alone. I would say we've proven ourselves more poweful than any guardian just from deeds alone.

We could kill shin because we killed Crota solo

Destiny is a pretty straightforward title. We're Destined to be the strongest Guardian ever. Even the tag line "become legend" is about how were the most legendary of all Guardians. Saint-14, another pretty epic Guardian was literally inspired by how awesome we'd be in the future. Our power is so great that it penetrates time itself. Do Shin may be the greatest Gunslinger ever. Hell, he's the progenitor of the Golden Gun. But we're still better. It's woven into the very fabric of our plot armor.

The “Godslayer” title originally referee to the Heart in the Black Garden, I believe. We did also kill Oryx in the physical plain by ourselves, as well as light infused Gary and Xol. Plus Aethon was as close to a god as the Bex can get.

makes me wonder how powerful players who solo raid bosses would be considered in the lore
-
You forget the dudes that have soloed and Duoed the raid bosses......
-
We have killed gods, both in and out of raids. Shin has killed a lot of people with no shadow. Who would win?
-
Plot armor...?
-
I'll kill Shin because I feel like it. He has NO chance against me

13 RepliesIt took 6 very powerful guardians to kill Oryx. Say what you want about shin but shin has not done any other thing in the lore majorly except kill Yor and his shadows. Also your guardian is technically the strongest even if it’s not stated. You wield over 6 different powers on one character whilst everyone else only uses 1. You killed a god in our world and then went to their ascendant realm where they are astronomically more powerful then in this world and killed them. I can think of no one in the lore that has done this and the ones that have attempted have all failed minus Kabr because in a way he was there in the fight with Atheon at the end of VoG. I know this has been long but I’m just stating facts your guardians kills hordes of enemies by himself while many lore gaurdians died doing something like that or it took them a much greater effort to do it. Well that’s all I have to say bye.

7 Replies<We solo-d Oryx the first time THEN got in a raid team. We killed Xol and Nokris on our own, we took care of all Scorn Barons by ourselves. Should I go on?>
-
Are you forgetting that every d1 raid boss has been 1 manned.
-
5 RepliesThe raids in d1 were solo’d, individually we are very much the strongest guardians to ever exist in destiny lore
-
Rezyl azzir is now the strongest guardian in the lore so says the lore books
-
It’s a very good question, but while you can argue our uniqueness in the universe, Shin is equally as unique, with how he became a Guardian in the first place and his connection to the golden gun.
-
8 RepliesFoolish mortals. All you’ve killed were but pawns.
-
5 RepliesGuardians aren't strong at all
-
We are limited only by the strength of the writer.
-
We may be god slayers and legends but Saladin will still forget who we are lol
-
1 ReplyDisagree. We can be killed so many times by the architects. They must be the true gods.
