BUNGIE, take note on what ANTHEM is doing RIGHT
In ANTHEM, you can play SOLO or with a co-op group. And ALL activities have matchmaking. You heard me correctly - ALL activities have matchmaking.
And to incentivize good gamers to help casual ones, ANTHEM awards BONUS XP to more powerful players who help out the weaker ones.
And ALL activities are PvE. That's right - NO tryhard no-life gamers need apply to a game that's based on solo or co-op adventures against the environment.
You could have been a leader BUNGIE but now you'll have to follow if you don't want to go out of business like many other game developers.

It’s obvious that this is a kid talking. In no way shape or form will anthem ever lead Bungie. If that’s what you think then you need to scram. As of right now anthem barely has any end game content. Very restrictive movement. Oh right you can fly. ONLY FOR 10 SECONDS!!!! That’s annoying. Lol. Third person. Annoying. EA. Annoying. 3 months in EA will somehow monetize the hell out of it. But whoa it has matchmaking for every pleb to get carried. Yeah!!!! Sounds like a leader to me. [spoiler]NOT!!!! 🤣[/spoiler]

2 RepliesAfter playing the open beta the only thing Anthem does right is load screens. Lots and lots of load screens. Holy crap every time you turn around there’s a load screen.

1.All the ridiculous non-intuitive and wipe-inducing mechanics in a destiny raid would make matchmaking a nightmare 2. I can’t fathom why Bungie hasn’t figured out separate balancing. The whole existence of the Crucible is meant to be outside the PvE universe. “The Vanguard has decided that a Crucible without exotic weapons (or put there whatever you want) would be a better measure of fighting skill” there, story justification is accomplished. 1B. I know we haven’t seen everything from Anthem, but the reason they can match make everything is that it seems like using regular game behavior can accomplish everything. That said it sounds like there’s very little at launch outside of the story. Free play obviously can be made more interesting/full than it is in the demo, but I read somewhere only three of those Tyrant Mine “expanded strike” activities at launch. That could be wrong, and I’m not saying necessarily bad to have something that doesn’t demand second-job-like attention.

Congratulations. Not all activities need matchmaking and there are plenty of reasons for that. When you try to raid in Anthem and you matchmake for a team, have fun finding people who have no thumbs, zero idea of what to do, are incredibly underleveled, do not speak English so they therefore cannot communicate with you and purposely grief the run so that you cannot complete it. Oh yeah and people who sit AFK.
