Save Nova Warp

Dear Bungie, You have absolutely nuked the Nova Warp subclass. With your buffs to all other guardian supers you essentially have relegated the warlock void class to a two super class. Nova warp was always more prevalent in PVP because of its ease of use and nuetral game. It has never been and still isn't the best choice for damage in PVE. Now with your absolutely destruction of it PVP. why would anyone ever choose it? Understood that the super needed a rework or two but holy sh*t bro you literally curb stomped that super. Please watch the linked YouTube for specific ideas as it would take me too long to write all of the issues here.

  • It needed a decent nerf. 3-4 second duration nerf and double energy use from charging. Thats it! But i knew bungie was going to completely destroy it because the guys in charge on sandbox/balance changes have no clue how to balance a game.

    • I agree. I have, unfortunately, stopped using my “main” warlock for PVP and use my huntress. Blade Barrage and Golden Gun are now the undisputed kings of PVP. That is not a bad thing, but Nova Warp was useless in PVE, only viable in PVP. But now it is the worst super in the game. It was fun to use, not anymore.

      • Nova Warp is completely useless. Warlock in general doesn't have as many options in PvP as the other two classes

            Nova Warp is absolutely fracking useless in PvE now, Bungie has managed to make it more useless than Stormcaller was. I am truly amazed. This is why nerf herders are hated for bitching and moaning and getting shit nerfed. I hope crabs takes refuge in the pubes of all you whiny ass nerf herders.

                • Best thing players can do is not touch it. Act like it doesn't even exist in the game. It isn't worth using in the least now so just don't use it. They will either buff it or at a minimum you will be developing your abilities to use other viable subclasses.

                  • Perfect idea: make dark matter do the same thing as trample on striker right now, Nova warp still won’t be the same as it was before in PvP but you can turn it into an ad clearing super instead. I think it would provide Nova Warp a place in D2 post patch. Dark matter will charge your super for Void ability kills (on top of what it already does) and will keep your super alive for Void ability kills as well (like handheld supernova and Nova Warp kills). I think this will boost its PvE viability but still keep it in a dreadful state for PvP for the time being

                  • Spectral blades was equally as good, after it’s buff, and was barely brought down while nova warp was nuked. Bottom tree striker is now phenomenal in both pve and pvp. Top tree Goldie is better now, as long as you shoot before getting shot. Blade barrage still great. The only subclass between hunter and titans that is lackluster is arcstrider, spectral does what it does but better. What do warlocks get, 3 extra seconds for dawnblade, one more enemy to get chained by tickle fingers, and more damage to kill your self with nova bomb. But nova warp gets near 7 seconds removed, increase charge cost and faster drain when holding charge, reduced damage, and slower speed. It’s the single biggest nerf to a subclass in destiny. The only people rejoicing are salty scrubs who can hardly get kills in the first place.

                      • In m 40+ matches since the update, i've died to novawarp once, on gamblers ruin... I've seen maybe a total of 3 people using it. It's utter garbage now. Dawnblade is like the only option but since i don't have traction transversive steps i guess i'm better of being a hunter main now.

                      • Lmao these nova pukes defending their crutch. Warlocks have healing rift. Warlocks have handheld nova bomb. Warlocks have devour. Warlocks don’t need a 25 second super that tanks rockets, warps to other side of the map, and re-blows up the entire spawn again. I’m sorry you had to figure out you’re not great at crucible because Bungie took back 5+ kills each time you activated your super.

                          Striker was essentially the same. Middle tree was the only one worth using in Forsaken, with top and bottom tree being worthless for the entirety of year 1 and half of year 2. Guess you’ll have to wait 6-12 months until they buff it.

                            • Nova warp is a super that needed the changes. Especially if you compare it to other supers in the game, it requires little to no aim or sense of direction to the target for the kill, so long as you're in range of said target. Take spectral blades for example, that requires you to know exactly how long the super is going to last before you can close the distance. And then you need to have at least some accuracy on point of impact to get the kill. Having to close the distance is an important thing for supers.. Maybe the nerf was excessive, or maybe the way other players abused it was. Either way, I'm sure it's still perfectly powerful enough to play as and isn't nearly as bad as it seems or people are making out. Just.. Have fun playing the game and don't get so wound up over stats? Mad idea, I know.

                                • Isn’t this how Bungie does things? Nerf something useful to achieve a more favorable numbers balance in a summary report. X was good, people were using it. Nerf x, buff y. Three months later write a “candid” sandbox update vaguely referring to abilities being “where we want them to be”. That being said, I have never played a game with or using nova warp so I don’t know if it was op like hammer was when it first came out in D1, or just good and fun like mythoclast toward the end of house of wolves.

                                  I still enjoy it. It can wipe out a spawn... that's pretty good. The jump though.... makes me hate warlock. That thing needs to be re worked.
