It's not so much about the damage resistance as it is the ability to kill people though solid cover and get seventh columns easier than basically any other super, I think. Besides, pole dancer is the least viable hunter sub in PvP; spectral blades and any gunslinger tree will outperform them basically every time. Night stalker in general has the best neutral game, and anything solar has an excellent super game. It really makes me miss old-school blade dancer sometimes.
