Feedback Request: Snipers

Hey all, Cozmo and I are currently collecting some feedback on Sniper Rifles. We have been for some time, but we wanted to centralize the source of feedback to an extent. Do you have feedback on Sniper Rifles? Are there any QOL style improvements that you'd want for this weapon archetype? What currently works well, and what would you want to see changed? This does not guarantee any specific changes will be made, but we wanted to ensure your thoughts are properly represented when we pass feedback along to the team. Quick note, Rapid Fire Sniper Rifles will be receiving a buff tomorrow. Currently, Guardians require 3 body shots to be defeated, tomorrow this will be reduced to 2 body shots. With that in mind, are there any other changes you'd like to see? Cheers, -dmg04

  • Right now I feel flinch is a big issue, given that a lot of people are using pulse rifles or 180rpm hand cannons right now the constant hits give a huge amount of flinch and with the recent buffs to fast firing autos and scouts they're going to have the same affect. If you don't want to reduce the flinch of all snipers maybe change unflinching perks (especially enhanced versions) on armor pieces as right now they don't really feel like they do anything. Lower zoom scopes. A lot of the crucible maps are small to medium size maps which is great for the pace and flow of matches but don't lend themselves to the longer zoom scopes currently on snipers. Ammo. I feel snipers could spawn with 3 or maybe 4 shots instead of 2. Right now you spawn in go for a kill and maybe you miss your first shot and get the kill with the second you're now out of ammo and even if the enemy you just killed dropped a special block the likely hood is that one of your team who's running around with a shotgun has already picked it up by the time you can get to it and now you're left waiting til you die or find a random special brick.
