Really dislike the impede progress mechanic, be interested to know if anyone does enjoy it.
I genuinely nearly stopped playing the game during the malfeasance quest. It wasn't tense or thrilling, it was simply not enjoyable (the primary aim of a game).
As a result I won't be taking part in the last word quest. Very disappointed.
I wonder why you don't have the same mechanic in PvE quests?
UPDATE: Just in response to what many people have said. The "it's a PvP gun" is not relevant to my feedback. My feedback regards my personal opinion on the gameplay mechanic, and that I personally don't enjoy it, not that you have to do crucible.
The feedback section is for players to let Bungie know their opinion on aspects of the game. While I respect others may think differently to me, rather than trying to invalidate my opinion by twisting the meaning of my issue, make a post with your own views.

6 RepliesWould you rather have that or it require 5-10x as many kills but no punishment for deaths? Also, as long as you can maintain a k/d above 0.5, you're making progress.

2 RepliesYou can beat it without a single kill.

Impede progress is fine as long as it's not absurd. TLW is easy.

It’s good that they have something like this. Exotics shouldn’t just be handed out, you need to actually earn them. Plus it won’t matter because based on past experiences, Bungie is going to cater to all the kids crying that it’s too difficult and make it easier.

10 RepliesEdited by Kanashimi510: 1/29/2019 8:15:52 PMIt's a mechanism designed specifically to try and feed players, that would otherwise not be playing crucible, to the dwindling number of pvp players the game still has. Since the bad matchmaking has pushed out a large amount of players and the trashy meta rotation has pushed out a bunch more, this was a way to send in some fresh meat to be stomped on for a few months without the effort of trying to fix anything.

You don’t improve if there’s no penalty for failure. Simple.

It's not that long of a progress, just get a good streak going and it'll be over before you know it. ~TheGreatNike

Give the quest a shot, it's alot easier than you probably think.

3 Repliesits a pvp gun. Im far from good in the crucible but I managed to complete the quest yesterday. Step out of your comfort zone for a few hours and get it done if you really want it.

2 RepliesIt's not that I enjoy it, I'm just indifferent. I'm fairly decent at pvp so having a couple deaths and losing a little progress reset is not a big deal. I do understand if you're going 1 kill and dying 30 times. However, TLW has always been a pvp weapon not to say you cant try guns in different things but it's clear since D1 that it was specifically designed around pvp. So I'm just confused about why pve players are upset because they have to play pvp (atleast average .5 kd for a couple games) just to get a gun they'll literally never use. I still haven't done the new raid and gotten the anarchy. I want it, but I will literally never lose sleep knowing that I have to do the new raid to get it.

Edited by TotalDramaGamer: 1/30/2019 9:42:37 AMThose quest steps are only okay to those are skilled enough to not be affected by it... -- I mean, to me, it probably won't affect my time dedicated to the quest at all beyond what it miniumly requires. But to someone who doesn't like crucible, or just isn't very good, this is just a small comp experience version of quickplay. And they probably avoided comp because they didn't want that experience...

Nerf last word for the pvpers

5 matches fir me so it felt short. I was gearing up fir 25-30 or more matches. This was nothing. I don’t mind it. It wasn’t overly punitive either.

I liked it and the quest was too short

I enjoy it. It forces me to play good.

15 RepliesSo easy to do, quit your bellyaching and do it. I WANT IT NOW Kids these days...

3 RepliesBest thing you can do, is do the quest to get the gun, and not play PvP anymore afterwards. Beat them at their own game. Only do PvP when you need/want to.

It's the reason I stopped playing Gambit for fun. Basically made me play it enough times that it just stopped being fun for me, so imagine how it is when I already hate PvP. Got the kills step done, but now I have to deal with the stupidity of either having to be a vulture or get lucky for those medals. Yay. So thrilling.

Took me all day, and was a hell of an uphill battle for me, but i wouldn't feel nearly as good about myself if the mechanic wasnt there to push me to strive to do better.
