Hey all so I thought with the introduction of the new Forsaken supers that it would be really cool to allow more subclass branches to exist for the new supers, kind of like how there’s a top and bottom tree for one super. I was thinking about how interesting it would be if the way of the wraith class ditched invisibility and wall hacks for increased mobility and uptime on your abilities. Even though this is kind of ditching the specialty of invisibility that the nightstalker class has, it borrows from D1 bladedancer similar to how way of the wraith did when stalker was replaced by flawless execution and arc blade invis was replaced with the spectral blades heavy attack.
Way of the Wraith v.2 (couldn’t think of a name)
Super: Spectral blades
-Same super as before except the heavy melee attack is replaced by a new version of showstopper from D1 arcstrider.
-Instead of getting wallhacks and invis, you essentially do a worldline tesseract either in place, or away from your current position based on movement input
Melee ability: Detonator
-Essentially a sticky grenade that attaches to any surface and detonates in smoke for extra damage when damaged by anything
-Sticking an enemy with the detonator marks them
-Combos pretty well with grenades since you can preemptively throw one at a peeking enemy and deal extra damage from the detonation
-Detonation counts as melee damage so take from that what you will
First ability: Spectral blink
-after dodging near an enemy your next jump is replaced with a blink. Blinking reduces the cooldown of your dodge by half
Second ability: Vanishing step
-For each enemy you kill in spectral blades you gain a stack of this buff, which increases your damage and allows you to perform a blink for each stack of vanishing step that you have (stacks up to 3 times)
Great exotics to combo with this class:
Gwisin vest (allows you to gain super energy when using heavy attack)
Sealed ahamkara grasps (shooting your detonator reloads your gun, allowing for more uptime on your damage)
Frost-ee5: Combined with spectral blink, you consistently have your dodge active
Sixth coyote: A -blam!- ton of blinks and dodges
The dragons shadow: Since you have blinks and a low dodge cooldown have fun with that
Gemini jester: Dodge + blink = nightmare
Worldline zero: Chaotic evil
Stomp-E55: Ever wanted to blink into the atmosphere?
