The Elephant in the Room - Current State of Destiny 2 vs Anthem Demo

Lets Keep this short and Sweet these are my opinions, and like assholes, everybody has one. some might agree, some don't, this is just based on my experience. its not based on Anthem as game but the Demo and from what we have been exposed to, and the current state of Destiny 2. Facts: 1) - Even though there are vague similarities when it comes to the feel of the game etc. and both games having the looter shooter aspect, Destiny and Anthem are actually nothing alike. I was Expecting a 3rd Person rip off, but that... did not happen. 2) - Anthem as made a poor first impression with their Demo - which leads to a lot of questions on the Future of the games support & technical issues, yet they managed to rectify the "state" of the "Demo" quite easily, more than what we can say for Destiny 2 and the current state it is in. 3) - The Excitement Factor for Anthem will wear off, I can see this happening, as it is with every other game, but I can also see the Fun Factor staying there for longer than what it did in Destiny 2, as Destiny 2 currently, took a huge dip from the Forsaken Launch to S5, where the community feels neglected by Bungie as it takes them forever to address issues, and the unimaginative content and feedback is met with the same attitude from Bungie making the community feel detached from the game. 4) - the Demo for Anthem showcased a lot of features, the customization options are amazing and the fact that you can create preset load outs? yeah - that is great, where we are still sitting with armor in our Destiny 2 vault that is a cosmetic copy and paste from D1, yet again proving the point that Bungie is unimaginative in their creative execution of content. that being said for some reason I can see a lot of cosmetic items hidden behind Micro Transactions in Anthem, which is obvious, I mean its EA... 5) - The fact that Bungie severed ties with Activision is both alarming and exciting for me, Funding in any game is a major issue, but money was the downfall of Destiny. Point. Bungie can now focus on giving the game the content it needs and establish a decent relationship with their community. Redeemable by improving the current game with the content it is lacking and having the creative freedom to do so. That being said, the simple execution of what I have seen in the Demo, makes me wonder if its even possible for Bungie to do that, and if they should just finish off D2, let it die like a Candle and give us a Brand new game, in D3. I can see this happening, you are going to get the people fed up with D2, jumping on the Bandwagon and getting Anthem, those people will leave the game and get back to D2 in the hopes that it will change. it wont. D2 has a Following, a community, it has a history - where Anthem is the new kid on the block, and I can say this much, - I do not know if the Game will have the same pull, or create the same "feel" - that D1/2 and 3's community will have. time will tell, these are just my opinions. I am looking forward to see how these two play out.

  • I’m just gonna say it, the hype for Anthem was the exact same as the hype for Destiny, everyone should have seen this after having gone through Destiny/Destiny 2, and yet they blatantly say stuff in these forums like “wow, Bungie didn’t give us what they promised? Have you heard about what Anthem supposedly has” even though it hasn’t been released yet. I’m going to continue to call that, it will have severe problems at launch just like Destiny did, and then everyone is going to complain, as usual, until the next game that will supposedly be the thing to kill off Destiny
