Why the cabal are the biggest threat we face(long term)
Ok people are worried about stuff like savathun and the taken and many other enemies of the darkness.
Now step back and think about it ok, the hive are barely even a society they are really well a swarm they are as much a society as orks or tyranids from 40k or even the rebel alliance from Star Wars, they are a loose group of individuals who have come together for a somewhat common goal
Now compare that to the cabal, they are a well organized machine, capable of conquering worlds and they don’t just raze them they build them up and forge alliances and use complex stratagems, they are not a swarm they are legion but they are also as solid and well built as a planets crust.
Not only that but calus has clearly discovered some power that could possibly elevate the cabal empire to the top, imagine this what if cabal guardians had managed to occur we wouldn’t have won and it was close to happening too we were just in time to stop it. Now imagine if calus found the darkness imagine legions of dark cabal legionnaires and phalanxes marching on the city, now how will we stop that.
I personally think once calus regained control of the cabal they will become our greatest threat, so now we can do two things about this.
[spoiler]be callus’s best friend so when the cabal become this powerful mighty force they aren’t our enemies[/spoiler]
[spoiler]or we could strike now and take out calus now and not have to worry about this[/spoiler]
This is based if calus is to retake the empire and has made a pact with whatever power he found
(I also do believe there was a bit where calus says that ghauls attack on the city was sloppy and that the cabal has other ways of fighting paracausal entities that ghaul forgot (note that is from memory could be wrong))

Vex are probably a much bigger threat than Cabal, honestly.

Judging the Taken as enemies is really hard. There are a lot of Taken in the universe. Oryx would Take most of a galaxy, then just leave and the Taken would wipe out the rest. There are probably Taken we have not even seen before[spoiler]I really like the Taken[/spoiler]

The vex have galaxies. The hive killed races that would make the forerunners look weak. Calus is all talk. He uses pisons to make a pocket universe.

1 ReplyI'd say the Arhamkara and hell even Humanity itself are the biggest longterm threats, the Dragons transcend death, and as long as humanity is a thing it will face itself in constant battles, political or actual war for we will always have conflict amount ourselves

2 RepliesThe Cabal have been royally -blam!-ed recently and their military is rather splintered. Calus says that Ghaul only ever focussed on the military and as such their society degraded due to lack of supporting it. And now with the Red Legion being screwed, the cabals greatest legion, they’re a bit on the back foot. They slapped the guardians on the face and in turn the Cabal were flipped over and received aggressive anal domination. They’re still a threat unless calus gets his shit together, but they’re not the greatest.
