  • Not true. Its actually people from the American South. You just wouldn't notice it because of all the caveman antics we have goingz on down here.

  • You mean "Man from Florida" style of news or those "all y'all" kind of jokes? I haven't been in States, but met various people from there, from different states. Maybe because those meetings were somewhat related to mutual interests, I can't point many differences between people from, say, Idaho or Florida, other than pronunciation of certain words or folklore-related stories told for laughs.

  • All right, may be a hybrid between "professional deformation" and "inside joke" of a sort. Back when I was in military and currently in construction industry we tend to use profanities. A lot of profanities. It's not because we are rude and like invective. Sometimes it's just shorter to say "blam blaming blamhole blamstick blamers" than to provide technically and grammatically correct description. And people tend to understand each other better and thus - faster. Don't ask me how this works, I have no idea. Therefore, when someone expresses themselves in unusually polite (or technically correct) or just confusing manner, or does not understands us, we refer to some locality. It may be district, or "borough", "county", or even city, renown for its reputation of being highly cultural and educated, i.e. "direct opposite" from our low-brow simpleton bruthuhood:). For example, "hey, folks, do you have translator from/to put_locality_name_here?"
