Hi! I’m wanting clarification on throwing the balls at the last encounter after we have “killed” the boss. How many balls have to hit? Does greed matter? And do we need to shot the boss (after throwing balls)? I’ve spent several hours trying to complete and have gotten him to no health several times. Either a ball disappears as it hits or we’ve had someone miss. Really frustrating mechanic if it’s not working. Any advise/help is greatly appreciated. I’ve watched videos, read but no one explains.

1 ReplyWhen 'final stand' starts, all players who are alive at the time are engulfed. That is then passed to the ball they pick up, and why we start getting the Greed counter. A 'charged' relic does something like 25 times more damage to the boss than an uncharged one. If every player alive picks up their own ball, a 'missed' shot can be picked up by another player and still do max damage. The engulfment was passed to that relic, so the relic itself is still 'charged'. I would pickup misses all the time when I ran spire after I threw my own initial relic, and the second relic (and one time third relic, lol) did the 'charged' damage. If a player picks up and throws a ball at the boss, then picks up another ball that hasn't been touched by another player yet, they need to pass it to the other player that still has engulfment to do max damage. The first player in that instance can't charge the second ball, since they used their engulfment on the first one they picked up. But the other player still has the engulfment and can still charge that second relic, even though they didn't touch it first. Something to keep in mind if a player isn't close to their relic, but someone else can pick it up off the ground before it expires. Just have them pass it to the player who was going to grab it so it can be charged. If a player dies after the engulfment happens, but before grabbing their relic, they lose the engulfment. The relic is void damage. So if Prism is the modifier in Prestige, it will make a significant difference if void bonus is up at the time of final stand. Also, enemy debuffs (tractor cannon, certain melee abilities) do work with relic damage. Greed stack amount does not matter for relic damage. Player power level does, if they are under 380. I never experimented with having a lower power player 'charge' a relic, then pass it to a higher level player to throw at the boss. There is plenty of time after picking the relic up off the ground to move around and get a good shot at the boss. Players can jump right up next them if they are having trouble hitting him. Generally have everyone damage the boss after they throw their ball, unless they are chasing down a miss.

1 ReplyEdited by suttungur: 1/24/2019 10:37:29 AMIIRC, at least 4 need to hit with max damage + two with less damage in order to bring down the shield. By max damage, I'm referring to each guardian throwing their own ball. If anyone throws more than one, the extra balls do significantly less damage. However, in some situations, e.g. couple of guardians down, someone needs to throw extras, it's still more damage than not throwing the balls. If someone misses, they should be the person to run after their own ball and throw it again, for maximum damage. Multiplier for Greed does not do more damage. Generally people wait until 5 before throwing, but that is mostly to get everyone to throw roughly at the same time and not to rush & miss. Also, depending on how many balls hit the boss with max damage, you may need to shoot him in order to destroy the remainder of the shield he has left. Main reason you don't want to wait for maximum greed is that you'll have less time to correct mistakes and shoot any remaining shield. [EDIT] Almost forgot, if anyone throws a ball after they have been revived, they no longer have any greed and therefore will only do minimal damage. In this case, it's better to have someone else throw any extras.
