Enhancement Cores for Enhancing, NOT Infusion!

I'm not usually a bandwagon person, but apparently Bungie doesn't want to listen unless we literally spam this on their forums. How much clearer does the community need to make it that Enhancement Cores (or whatever you want to try calling them next) should be used to make your gear better? We're not asking them to be removed when you are creating Masterworks; that makes sense. But we'd really like to keep them for that purpose, and not be forced to waste them all infusing our crap just so we can have decent gear to actually play end game content with. I literally earned 70-80 cores during the holiday event, and have already burned through almost all of them. You know how many items I've Masterworked with them? 1. Yes, a single item, and all the rest were just to make gear and weapons the proper power level, so I'm not forced to use crap perks and weapons I don't want. Now if I'm doing that just for practicality purposes, I can only imagine it's a damned nightmare for anyone that actually wants to create entire sets of gear to actually look good...

  • They should introduce "infusion cores" and have it so you can only get 2-3 a week. Just like etheric light in d1

The stupidity would be funny, if it wasn't so sad at this point.

    • Infusing is enhancing a weapon. That argument doesn't work. Sorry.

      • You can easily get 20-30 core each week. Plus increasing the light level of a weapon or armor piece is actually "enhancing" it also.

      • Cores should be used to masterwork above tier 6 not to infuse.

      • Cores are drop all the time. Use cores wisely and you never run out.

If they REALLY want to keep cores in I just pray they make cores have a better drop rate, like you're guaranteed at least 1 for dismantling any legendary, or 5 for completing a strike, Night fall, or raid.

        • Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with Enhancement Cores in Destiny 2. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurcore. From what I can gather he commands the Infusion Dancers from an Enhancement Core Tank outside of Bungie's office. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on infusion costs.

        • My idea is that Cores are removed from their current role and re-assigned to a role that is implied in its previous original name and purpose “Infusion”, more specifically for infusing a Y2 item into a Y1 item to mirror all of that items perks and traits into the Y1 item. Let’s say that you get a duplicate Y2 Helmet that has a respectable roll, but you are not going to use it and you have an older Y1 helmet that was one of your favorites. Instead of dismantling the Y2 helmet you could infuse that Y2 helmet into the Y1 helmet, so that the Y1 helmet will than have all of the perks and traits of the Y2 helmet along with its power level. With this system the Infusion Cores will actually fit an intended role and allow players to use any Y1 gear they have acquired. Furthermore, its fine if Cores are a rare item since they will not be required for anything but reusing old gear. Some guidelines for this proposed system are: -You must have an Infusion Core in your Inventory. -The process can only be utilized one time on any piece of Y1 gear, so choose sensibly. -You need to infuse corresponding items. (Helmet for Helmet, Hand Cannon for Hand Cannon, Scout Rifle for Scout Rifle and so on) -Cannot be used on Exotics (maybe down the road, but let’s get started first) -I am fine with the process also requiring a sensible amount of planetary resources and some Glimmer.

        • Be careful they'll add infusion cores that are less likely to drop

          • My only gripe with cores is that masterwork cores should be for master-working only and enhance cores should be renamed to exotic shards and used only for enhancing exotic weapons. Any other weapons should be enhanced or infused by planetary resources and currency. Basically D1 days. Oh, and farm-able cores and exotic shards, via certain bosses, or by completing an heroic strikes, night-falls and heroic public events.

          • look at the stupidity in the title alone. didn't bother to read your post as the title set the bar for you incredibly low. is not improving the level of the gear an enhancement?...........................? without reading I can surmise you waste cores a lot then marvel at your lack of cores when needed, about the same as most of these hive minded copy cat simpletons.

              • I agree something needs to be done. I don't know about others, but I barely use what were formerly Masterwork cores for Mastworking. I'm too busy trying to infuse things to even start to work on Masterworking. I am trying to keep infusing to a minimum, but when you finally get weapons and gear with the roles you want it's hard not to. It can be a long time before you'll see a dupe drop that you can infuse with w/o using cores.

                • They are putting life first over the game way too literal but i have no choice but to support them cause you cant blame them for whatever theyre going through. Well maybe cause majority of the world is trash but they do seem like good people so probably not.

                  • Even with the mass spamming, it's still a fair chance they'll just ignore everyone and do what they want. Not sure why they would want to die on this hill though? This change doesn't imbalance anything; it only allows for every player to be more flexible in their game play and to enjoy the activities with more variety. With so little drip feed new content, the only thing that makes it tolerable is having extra ways to enjoy the content... If anything they should be working to get in the good graces of their players that have stuck with them. With all the great games coming out in 2019, they have a lot to lose if people choose to move on.
