The Lake at the Pyramidion

Asher refers to the lake as a point deep into the Pyramidion, perhaps the place where he lost his arm to Vex assimilation. In the The Pyramidion strike there is a point where Asher mistakes where the guardian should be and not wanting to argue Ghost simply agrees even if it appears nonsensical. ASHER: You should now be arriving on the shore of an inscrutable radiolarian lake. GHOST: Oh. Not a pit? ASHER: What pit? There is no pit in the Pyramdion! GHOST: Uh, I mean yes! Silly me! Here's the lake now. But it really is a pit and not the lake from Asher's story. The Vex are seen warping reality in Curse of Osiris on Mercury, but I was wondering if there is anywhere where we see the Lake that Asher saw or is it meant to be that "war story" of Asher's that no one else got to experience and just becomes somewhat of a joke?

  • Well the pyramidion is a lot like the vault of glass for Io, it's the central hub for all Vex activity on the planetoide and where the Vex are at there most powerful. It's possible that within the pyramidion Brakion decided to remodel the interior due to the last break-in that Ashur and his Fireteam created. Hell if our attack failed Brakion probably would have remodeled again, just so any information gained from the event would be outdated and unusable

The Vex cannot simulate light. But they can simulate things our psyche will react to. Asher must have a “special” attachment to a body of water in his memory. So the Vex “rolled with it” and were able to begin their conversion process of him. The young wolf(s) could see the interior of the pyramidion for what it is. And it appears to based off of the inside of those giant onyx pyramid ships with data acquired from the heart of the Black Garden. Except with a lot of salt.

      • There's a cinematic you can find on youtube for a scrapped D1 Vex expansion that shows them coming out of the water (radiolarian liquid). It also shows the geometric structure made of various beams around the room you fight the Pyramidion boss in. This structure was later found tucked away in the The Terminus on Venus by sparrow flying out to normalally unreachable areas. The expansion was likely going to involve Asher and the lake where he loses his arm. Also if you haven't taken a good look outside the boss room you can see moving blur like you're underwater. Boss room is literally deep in the lake whereas Asher was at the shore.

        • I’m pretty sure is just comes down to the Vex changing the layout of the area. Doesn’t he also say something about arriving at a nostril?
