I recently read a post saying that bungie should do away with this perk. In my opinion headseeker is God. Now hip fire grip they should do away with, at least for snipers.
-
I literally can not get headseeker to proct in pvp on my bygones how wtf I don’t understand I hit body shots maybe 2-5 burst across the same or multiple people it does not proct
-
3 RepliesIf you’re hitting that many body shots try feeding frenzy. That and rampage on Blast Furnace is truly god roll. Just a better version of rampage and outlaw.
-
11 RepliesIt's mathematically garbage. What kills it could save instead trains poor aim. Most people don't know what headseeker does, and the buff it grants is irrelevant. Kill clip is more reliable by a mile, rampage is still more viable. It's useless. You couldn't find a clip of yourself using it at maximum efficiency, because that means getting headshots, ignoring the buff by not getting a body shot. Aiming better makes it irrelevant, and it asks for worse aim to proc, training bad aim in the process. It should be removed based on it's negative impact.
-
It only adds 2 damage, and only on 1 bullet per burst. It's garbo.
-
6 RepliesThe damage of headseaker should ramp up imo. The more crits you hit on your burst the more damage you do. So on blast furnace 27, 29, 33, 39. Or would that be too OP?
-
HS is Garbo

2 RepliesWatch a video on headseeker because I don’t think you know what it actually does.
it’s dog shit
-
Headseeker was a perk that once helped with the consistency of the damage output Pulse Rifles had by making them slightly more forgiving. The reason why it’s not as popular now is because adaptive frame Pulse Rifles already have well-rounded damage at most ranges, body shot or not. And they’re basically training wheels. They practically fire themselves at this point.
-
SORRY I would like to hit all my crits, rather than being force to hit body shot for a measly 4% increase in crit damage its garbage perk
-
it needs to be improved to be effective over just getting all headshots.
-
Edited by Talk2MeToner: 1/19/2019 6:14:46 PMYeah if you see what it actually does in D2 you’ll change your tune. The damage difference is far too negligible to even matter in any more than one out of 100 scenarios.

5 RepliesEdited by Talismanta: 1/18/2019 9:16:28 PMHonestly that fact that hip fire grip can roll on snipers... every time I get one with that roll I’m struck speechless at the stupidity of whoever thought that was a good idea.

My go to pulse rifle perk

Edited by Lord_Shar: 1/18/2019 11:05:07 PMOn Blast Furnace, Head Seeker activates if you hit a body shot, and it adds +2 precision damage to the last round of a 4 round burst. So it only works if you aim at the neck, then let muzzle rise land the final shot of the burst on your opponent's head, netting you +2 total damage. Seriously???? If you want more than +2 damage per burst, give Kill Clip a shot ... it adds +53% damage over 5 seconds to ALL YOUR SHOTS after landing a kill and reloading. Head Seeker is trash on Blast Furnace... and everything else. >_< EDIT: Here is a URL that explain Head Seeker mechanics quite well:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7gOmHAgfFg
Skip ahead to the 4:40 mark if you just want to know why headseeker is so BAD and needs a re-work.
-
9 RepliesI was trying to explain this to someone the other day. I got (what I consider) a god-roll Blast Furnace: Zen Moment Headseeker Masterworked Stability And I put a counterbalance mod on for kicks. The thing is an absolute dream. I just aim for the chest, and let the initial burst kick up to the head. After that it is (typically) one more burst to the face and the enemy is dead. That simple. I see my crits go from 24-27 (depending on range) to 26-29 when headseeker procs. It is essentially a rampage 1 perk, but you don't need a kill to activate it.
-
1 ReplyLots of comments saying that it compensates for bad aim. I’d say that if you are good with it that you understand how to maximize the perk’s potential and that you actually have pretty good aim...

1 ReplyEdited by $hirtless Captain Kirk: 1/18/2019 1:43:41 PMThere's a lot of misconceptions about this perk and have been for 4 to 5 years now. In Destiny 1 the perk literally did nothing. It was basically a null perk on your gun. I remember when the Grasp of Malok was a huge thing, and all everybody wanted was headseeker. I remember SMH at everybody because I knew the perk didn'tdo anything. All you had to do is go and test it. Fast forward to Destiny 2. Totally different ball game. Headseeker does in fact work in Destiny 2. my main primary is a full auto/ headseeker Chattering Bone and it's a -blam!-ing amazing gun. This perk and how to roll fusion rifles in general are the two things I see the destiny community just get wrong all the time. Headseeker allows one of your bullets, not the full burst, to miss a critical and still get a kill. Very valuable when split seconds matter.

Swift ride can sometimes outplay a bygones because it has headseeker, if you dont have bygones, use a swift ride.
-
1 ReplyIt's only advantageous if you have bad aim.
-
1 ReplyThis thread represents an aspect of Destiny I really enjoy. The consensus finds the perk to be subpar compared to its peers. But in the end, it doesn’t matter. Destiny is a game of choice and personal preference. In the end it’s about what works best for your individual style of play. I’ll respect anyone who dares to enjoy something beyond the god roll. There’s plenty for everyone.

My Swift Ride XE8375 with Headseeker and Firmly Planted has way more kills in Crucible than any other gun I have, including Y1 guns. I didn't even unlock Black Armory for a good couple of weeks after it dropped, and only got that gun relatively recently, and have almost 1500 kills with it: it's the only gun I have that I can reliably kill Luna's Howl and Not Forgotten users, not just at range but even relatively up close. I can even kill Dust Rock Blues users sprinting, jumping and slideshotting if I see them coming. Those two perks together make a powerful combo on the right guns, that's for sure. /and to think I nearly dismantled it because I didn't think either of those perks were particularly useful before. ;P //Gun range in the Tower, Bungie! ///if I crouch on your corpse in Crucible, that's not me t-bagging, that's me staying Firmly Planted, just to be clear :P

1 ReplyEdited by ILoveI6v6I: 1/18/2019 2:22:38 AMI'd rather have perks that make it extremely easy to get precision hits than a perk that rewards NOT getting precision hits. That's why I always go for range (aim assist) and stability on my pulse rifles.
-
3 RepliesHeadseeker is great I agree, what they should dump is slide shot, it shouldn't even be an option on a Sniper.
-
If it wasn’t limited to only work within each burst I think it would be more valuable.
-
Headseeker is good. It evens out TTK values and landing headshots 100% of the time is just not viable.
-
9 RepliesIve heard people say that a Bygones with Headseeker will 2 tap, but I've never had one to test it. Ive only had one drop and it was almost the same as the one Drifter sells.
