We all know these weapons came in with vanilla, but they are still pretty good. Sadly, they are very underused since they don't support year 2 mods. They would probably find their way into more arsenals if one could enhance them with mods.
Additionally, since I'm asking about the Drang, could all sidearms get a buff too? They are vastly underperforming in the crucible, and fall short of both shotguns and handcannons. Maybe give them a little extra range or impact?

3 RepliesThe game feels good right now. There is weapons in all brackets that are great and shit on primary weapons the majority of the time. Sidearms don't need a buff. I use one all the time and its about a 65%/35% split on kills/lost the battle with it. I find that fair. Can't always have something that shits on primary's all the time.. What I am saying is, if they buff sidearms. I have a feeling it will be like D1 all over again and it will be either shotguns everywhere or sidearms everywhere. A primary has zero place in pvp.. which right now, everything feels pretty fair. . . other than telesto and shotguns. Both need range/damage drop offs.

2 RepliesIf they gave drang and mini an extra perk like they did with exotics to catch them up to speed they might be usable. But random rolls on those weapons would be too powerful. Sidearms need a touch more aim assist especially in pve unless I hit that vandal in the direct center of his face I register a body shot and they got some fat heads.

Agreed. This weapon pairing idea was one of the few good ideas to come with launch D2. In execution though there just isn't quite enough punch behind it. Sturm and Drang are okay, but MIDA and MIDA-mini need a buff. Allowing mods would help and really that needs to be extended to all yr 1 stuff.

4 RepliesAm I the only one who feels like Sidearms have ghost bullets? Not all of them though. Anonymous Autumn seems to have so many shots miss when you aim right at someone. But when I use Drang, all shots register.

Honestly. I don’t care for side arms, they do need a buff, be able to damage shotgun users before they enter shotgun range. Sometimes you come across these fellas that use a side arm and get shrecked because you got no shotgun equipped. That’s when you see it doesn’t need a DMG buff, just range and register tweeks. Shotguns are just sniping people.

This. Handcannons, Sidearms, and SMGs are my favorites in the game, but Sidearms are in first place. And there is like...7 kinetic sidearms right now, 1 of which is an Iron Banner exclusive, and the new one, the smuggler's word just makes me vomit. Sidearms desparately need some love, but of course more of every weapon type would be welcome.

Buff AND support sidearms please. No IB sidearms since S1. No BA sidearms. No raid SA's. A simple buff to body shot damage would be enough. If I need more skill to outplay a shotgunner in their range, I need to actually be able to kill them rather than tickle them. Or double the range.
