Leave Enhancement Cores alone.

 • You should still need Cores for "Masterworking" a weapon or piece of armor... No problem with that. But I'm not actually enhancing a piece of armor, or a weapon by bringing it's "Power" level up. Bringing its "Power" level up isn't improving anything... It's really arbitrary apart from being able to do higher level activities, which I can already do with another higher "Power" level weapon or piece of armor, but with perks that don't mesh with your desired loadout. By "Masterworking" a piece of armor of weapon, you're "Enhancing" it's base Statistics (Eg: Range, Stability etc). I totally agree with requiring Cores for the scenario above, but not for the arbitrary "Power" level. It still costs plenty of Cores to "Enhance" something.

 • Nope. They need to be removed from Infusion and used for their original purpose, Masterworking items. The addition to Infusion just adds a frustrating barrier that stops players from having the Armor and Weapons they want. It forces them to constantly equip stronger gear that might not be the way they want to look or have the stats and random rolls they desire. Alternatively, they can scrap Enhancement Cores completely and give the Masterwork system an XP bar, similar to D1's upgrade system. Once you hit a certain point, you either pay Glimmer, Shards and Mats to upgrade the weapon OR it just levels up on its own, no payment required. Oh, and in before you say, "iTs NoT tHaT hArD tO gEt CoReS". While there are several avenues to get Cores, they're actually boring and frustrating to do. Just another useless grind on top of all of the other useless grinds this game has.
