Why? The DLC was appr. $10. So if you played let’s say 10hours thats $1 per hour. If you think that’s trash, then that’s your biased oppinion. Stop thinking it would give you as much content as Forsaken. They stated that it wouldn’t. It gave you new exotics, a raid lair, armor, weapons, new game mode (forges), perks, story, etc.

  • Time vs cost isn't a good measure. If every hour costs $1 but 90% of those hours are boring then that's not good. A meal might be huge but taste like shit, does the price matter?

  • Then why you keep playing when it’s boring? If i think a game is trash i stop playjng it, thus the $/hour would be really high and thus a waste of money

For me, it's not the amount of content as far as adding events, areas, scenery. It's about the quality of the in-game content that matters. D2 has less content when it comes to planets, events etc.. but it was the in-game content, the loot system on how it was structured throughout the game that gave gamers the incentive to want to run the content.

  • The Annual costs $35, or $30 if you bought it with Forsaken in the digital deluxe edition (which was $70). I know there are 3 big pieces to the Annual Pass so it seems like common sense to say Black Armory costs 1/3 of that, or $10. But this is where common sense fails us. If I want Black Armory, I have to pay $35. If I buy the Annual Pass now and quit Destiny when Anthem comes out, I will have spent $35. If the live team doesn't have enough funding from DLC and Eververse sales and Joker's Wild and Penumbra are crap, the Annual Pass is still $35. The $1 per hour argument is also terrible. You can stare at your ceiling for 100 hours for free but that doesn't make it a good deal in entertainment. You can also play Fortnite for free and it will thus always be a better deal than Destiny and if the $/hour argument is such a winner then its proponents would tell everyone to quite Destiny and play Fortnite instead.

First of, you knew before you bought the annual pass that you get 3 seperate DLC’s in 1 year. Right? They clearly said that, right? So if you quit before you could enjoy that full content you didn’t think it through. Second. If i can stare at my ceiling for 100 hours i probarly paid alot of money for it to look that amazing! If it’s a worthless, ugly ceiling i would be bored after a couple of minutes. And lastly, Fortnite seduces young players with a free game to buy their skins for $20 a piece and their season pass. If you take that away you get a boring, repetetive game with no incentive. It would burn out in just days. For me, and a lot of people, i use the $/hour method to decide if i threw away money. If i paid $20 for a fortnite skin, would i enjoy it for at least 20 playing hours before i get bored of it? Probarly not. So it would be a waste of money. You can’t waste money hen it’s a free game can’t you? Get my point?

  •
So if you quit before you could enjoy that full content you didn’t think it through.
People are terrible at predicting how they will feel about the future. That's why Annual Passes are so great for publishers. Now that Acivi$ion is out, I hope Bungie adopts a player friendly DLC plan.
For me, and a lot of people, i use the $/hour method to decide if i threw away money.
And that's where you will always go wrong. You can validate any purchase by spending more time with it and lower the $/hour to resolve cognitive dissonance. Instead you should be looking for quality, memorable experiences that do not create cognitive dissonance.
