Is that a thing? Pulled Pork from what I gathered was pretty desperate. Could a similar, desperate Ghost searching for their Guardian come across a killed one and, I guess "reclaim" it?
Edit: what kind of troll actually goes through Lore looking for stuff to downvote? Are you too well-known in other subforums?

1 ReplyMaybe, maybe not. The lore rules have been pretty murky since all the retcons and general terrible story telling. Given that apparently character death means nothing he might come back sooner or later.

2 RepliesI think the answer is no and I believe it has to do with the light. If a guardian's ghost dies the light that guardian possessed is gone. The light is what the ghosts use to revive the dead and I think based on what I read the dead need to have only a little bit of light in their remains. Perhaps because the light from the traveller touched them. So cayde lost his light completely! There is 0 light in his body and he has 0 ghost. Which means no revival. There is nothing a ghost can do. My question is the burst of light that we saw at the end of the red war! Could that give light to guardians died in the past? Could we possibly see ghosts pick up a currently dead guardian because they are re-exposed to the light. We could see some legends come back. And who knows what will happen on encledius!

1 ReplyI don’t understand why they couldn’t. I mean Cayde was devoted to the Vanguard, he was brave and sacrificed himself in shooting down the elevator in the prison of elders, and then died. These are all the trials of the traveler. In theory, shouldn’t another ghost find him worthy, and be able to revive him?

1 Replywell, cayde cannot be revived by another ghost, but if only his ghost survived and he couldn’t be resurrected, it could get a new guardian.

7 RepliesTheoretically, yes, but not Cayde. Allow the man to Rest In Peace. He deserves it.

2 RepliesThis question has been answered in Destiny 1: The easter egg/ghost scannable for Pod 10201. A guardian with exceptional light sealed himself inside. ...] He said the last war was enough for a thousand lifetimes. There are also many Lore cards from D1 which point that ghosts who are capable enough to revive guardians after one guardian has died are due to extraordinary circumstances. Like the previous guardian being unable to be revived, etc. The normal status quo though is once a guardian is gone? The ghost cannot revive another. And really... what ghost would escape when a guardian killing army or weapon is present...

Why can't you let him die.
Got any mugs?
1 ReplyEdited by CheshireGrin92: 1/8/2019 11:34:01 AMI think under special circumstances a ghost can “transfer” between guardians. But something I took note of: In forsaken our ghost scans Cayde and says there is nothing he can do. If a ghost can only heal their guardian why would our ghost even think to check? Can a ghost at the very least heal any given Guardian?
