Console Graphic Settings with HDR and Brightness
So here's my issue. Anyone that has a Xbox One X or PS4 Pro knows that the usual brightness scale in game is replaced with an HDR Brightness Scale. However the brightness settings from the standard 1-7 scale still apply to your brightness settings from HDR. This can often cause things to be too dark and almost impossible to actually see. The only way to get it to be the right brightness is to go into your console settings and turn off 4k and HDR and put your resolution to 1080p, then reboot destiny and set the 1-7 scale, then turn back on 4k and HDR and reboot Destiny 2 then change the HDR brightness settings. Hoping it works if not you have to do it all over again.
So my question is can the original 1-7 Brightness selector please be added as an adjustment setting for those that play in 4k and HDR as an additional Brightness setting. Labelling the 1-7 scale as 'Brightness' and the HDR Sliders as 'Graphics'. these two settings should be accessible without going through so many hoops

1 ReplyThere was a reddit post addressing this issue with a fix. I followed the instructions and now I don't have brightness issues on my PS4 Pro running Destiny 2 in HDR.

HDR has been busted on PS4 pro since Dec 2017. It ain't getting fixed because they obviously don't know how to fix it or it would have been by now. Been reporting HDR issues since again, December of 2017 and keep getting the same copy/paste "it's being investigated" response which is complete BS at this point. :D This is what happens when an inept dev team tries to shoehorn a feature into a game that should have had it in the code on release.

It is a major issue. Bungie stated that it is being investigated but it has been since just before Forsaken dropped that the issue has persisted. I'm not getting my Hope's up at this point. I know I'm not spending more money on the game until it is fixed though. It really is a hindrance to some of the playability and enjoyment.
