I’m convinced that Queenbreaker has Opening Shot as a hidden perk.
Let’s look at Aim Assist stats.
Queenbreaker - AA: 60
Sleeper Simulant - AA: 57
Crooked Fang - AA: 61
So, all 3 linear fusions have about the same aim assist, yet Queenbreaker is WAYYY more accurate than the other 2.
Opening Shot
”increased accuracy and range on the opening shot of attack.”
It buffs your accuracy by 20%, and the cooldown is only 3.1 seconds. Which means that if you’re not spamming your shots, you’ll have that 20% increase for every shot.
I have used this perk on hand cannons, and you can literally aim at someone’s waiste and get a precision hit. (Tested in private match).
Let me know what you think. I’m curious to know if there’s any legendary linear fusions that can roll with Opening Shot, because that’s the only way to know for sure.

Edited by ScrubLord199901: 1/6/2019 6:46:40 PMIt has nothing to do with intrinsic perks or aim assist. That monstrosity of a gun has a MASSIVE hit box. I've aimed slightly far away from the left or right of someone's head and still got the head shot. Top that off with the near instant charge time of combat sights and already easy to use nature of linear fusion rifles and it becomes ultra top tier. I have a Crooked Fang with rangefinder, opening shot and my choice of accelerated coils or a range boosting perk with a maximum charge time masterwork. With the range perk it's 500 charge time and with accelerated coils it's 466. It still doesn't compare to the Queenbreaker. You just can't snag head shots with Fang like you can the Breaker. Still easy to use though. Good weapon if you don't have Queen.

1 ReplyI think I know the hidden perk on Queenbreaker.
Prototype Truthseeker
3 RepliesOne of the best ways to nerf QB and other linear fusions is to give them the same flinch as Snipers so if I’m sending 8 rounds into your head with blast-furnace you can’t just magically dome people almost instantly. Make it take some skill/strategy instead of making Destiny a point and click adventure game.

It's much more bonkers than that. Interesting theory though. I have Fang with Opening Shot (doesn't everyone?). This isn't Opening Shot, this is just bonkers Queenbreaker doing what it does.
-
Good theory , but that gun is atrocious . They nerfed my baby sleeper for being too effective and they are allowing this much bigger atrocity queen breakers to go untouched ? I know damn well the guys I'm playing with barely positive KA/D are not capable of consistently landing crits like this .

4 Repliesspeculation! seize this foolery at once and halt your investigation, as it can not be substantiated by Facts! the only way to test this is to have it go against a said guardian in its Super! and what better way to have that by...yes... you guessed it.
BRINGING BACK MAYHEM!
4 RepliesFrom what I've seen of this weapon, and player input in the comments, there is no perk that compares to the insane headshot accuracy. Let's face it: it's a Queenbreaker-only intrinsic perk.

6 RepliesEdited by DiZ: 1/5/2019 10:25:50 AMI don't think that's the case at all. When I tested it with a few friends in Private Matches, we found that something mindboggling happens when you fire it at somebody.(For reference, we tested Combat Sights, as those are the most used, and we're on console.) Either at the exact moment or very few milliseconds before the shot is fired, the reticle of the gun physically moves closer to the opponent's head. As long as their head is within the extremely faint purple circle surrounding the red tri-prong reticle, this happens every single time. Now it doesn't always result in an exact headshot(though it happened a majority of the time, especially if the reticle's already at least positioned on the person's body). Sometimes the phsyical representation of the shot would go through the head(according to the intended target even), with the bullet hole even being directly behind the person's head, yet not even result in a bodyshot. And other times it stopped just short of the head when fired from the sides or above the head. But you have to understand, that's without any player input at all into moving the reticle closer. When you combine player input with this mechanic, it becomes almost impossible to miss with. And it works on every single shot, not just the first shot you fire for awhile. I wish one of us had Enhanced Linear Fusion Rifle targeting at the time of the test, because that'd probably take it to even more ridiculous lengths. I also wish I hadn't recently done a factory reset on my Xbox, as my footage has been lost.

2 RepliesEdited by Dark Raven 2501: 1/5/2019 11:21:23 AMThe weapon in question is working as it is intended to specially for pve😜 Ps: personally I think that this weapon needs a buff in both its magazine and reserve ammunition ....... 7 rounds in the magazine & 120 rounds in reserve for pve would work fine

4 Repliesconsole dont cry 🤣🤣😹

7 RepliesIt's not the Aim Assist stat making it easy to use...
-
4 RepliesI just tried this in gambit after reading this post. It’s almost as easy to use as Sleeper and I suck with sniper rifle type aim. Shame gambit is just about long range invader kills. It’s pretty much what the whole mode boils down to.
-
2 RepliesIt’s Hit box is as big as a nuclear Blast radius.. Look, a guardians big toe... Headshot!
-
It’s not opening shot because I spam the shit out of that gun when I’m invading because people tend to group up and I shoot their feet and I still get headshots
-
Crooked Fang has opening shot
-
1 ReplyMaybe check into moving target, it’s on sleeper and got nerfed, you can get it on crooked fang
-
7 RepliesThe Crooked Fang can roll with Opening Shot. Opening Shot/Backup Plan is a very common roll that drops for me.

1 ReplyThe Queenbreaker was the very first Forsaken exotic weapon I got, I've been using it in Gambit since Sleeper was the meta and I've got to say you surely must be onto something here. I think you're absolutely right and would love Bungie to confirm if it's the case. Something is up with that crazy hit box. Chest/Back hits counting as crits...

1 ReplyEdited by KEKSIS, THE BETRAYED: 1/5/2019 1:28:00 AMMaybe aim assist has a similar weird quirk to recoil direction. (Recoil direction does better if the stat has a 5 at the end, and worse if it has a 0 at the end making 85 recoil direction better than 90.)
I think that’s how it works anyway, based off of another comment on a post about the forge pulse rifle performing worse when a counterbalance mod was applied.
Edit: This guy explains it better https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/250430396/0/0/1 Also crooked fang can roll with opening shot.

5 RepliesEdited by WulfPak666: 1/5/2019 1:03:06 AMSounds legit, or it could have "Hidden Hand" which is what it had in D1 on it's perk tree Hidden Hand This weapons gains better target acquisition Basically, gains increased aim assit just because. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Bungie just copy/pasted the file over and just hide the perk because I don't believe Hidden Hand is in the D2 perk pool. That would explain it's huuuuuge margin over the others guns in terms of "how the -blam!- did I even hit that guy" type of shots.
