Recoil on Blast Furnace is worse w counterbalance mod...weird.
Try it w a counterbalance mod...it’s terrible.
Try it without a counterbalance mod...it waaaay better.
I don’t get it. Weird if it’s a bug.

42 RepliesEdited by GrimTactics: 1/4/2019 7:59:16 PMBlast Furnace has a recoil hidden stat of 65. There’s a Reddit post about any hidden recoil stat ending in 5 is almost near vertical. Anything with a number ending between 0-4 and 6-9 will recoil either more left or right respectively. So adding a counter balance mod to Blast Furnace would put it at 80 which makes its recoil worse. I know it would seem that the higher the number the better the recoil would be but it’s based on how numbers ending on 5 touch the center axis. So recoil of 100 is dead center (yeah it doesn’t end on 5 but don’t ask me how they designed it) then 95>85>75>65 are all much better than 90>80>70 and so on. So you’d want to put Counter Balance on guns that have a value of say, 71 or 69, whereas a Targeting Adjuster or whichever mod you wish is better for 64,76, 85 and so on. 2 RepliesCounterbalance mod is trash. Every weapon I've ever tried it on has had worse recoil. It's meant to make the recoil more predictable, but what you're left with is a weapon that kicks like a mule, just one that kicks in a predictable direction.

1 ReplySeen a post on reddit awhile ago where someone tested counter balance mod on a variety of weapons. Long story short counter balance is only good for weapons that deviate left or right, if it has vertical recoil already then putting counterbalance on it makes it worse because all the mod does is increase vertical kick/recoil.

1 ReplyRecoil direction is a very interesting stat. Here’s the secret: if your recoil direction ends in 5, it will be mostly vertical. Blast furnace already has a recoil direction of 65 I believe, so it’s mostly vertical. Adding counterbalance will add 15 to it, making it 80. This will make it jump consistently to the left. Add counterbalance to a gun like swift ride and you will notice a big difference for the better.

4 RepliesPulses are by far the most easy and user friendly weapon to use. Still people complain about weapons that you land crits just for aiming in the general area it amazes me. How much easier of a weapon type do you want. Hip fire one shot kills from across the map? Would that be enough?

4 RepliesRampage mod has been working best for the one on my lock. If you're lucky enough to get stable rounds and stability masterwork, it simply doesn't need anything extra.

Counterbalance Stock reduces horizontal recoil but increases vertical recoil. Basically it gives you more kick but a more predictable bullet spread.

Yep, I checked that myself on 3 x Blast furnaces and all results the same. Especially recoil pattern.

7 RepliesThere’s something wrong with my BF. I watched a True Vanguard video on it and mine doesn’t seem to work like his does. Bungie coding error most likely. Got a decent roll on it but I stood in the corner of my first couple crucible matches with and it didn’t one shot everything automatically. I’ll try it out again tonight and try crouching and see if it will cross maps supers. Can’t wait to have a 5.0 Kd and finally go flawless.

Also made a post about this. Saw a YouTube streamer say something about it, traded my Furnace with CB for Targeting Adjuster and it made it sooooo much better.

As I said below make sure you use the same scope that you like. Because I had one with better stats for stability and handling but it felt worse then the one with an isa scope. So if you got a new one that had better stats and threw on a mod or one came with it might be the scope.
