Just got it for Christmas and all I can say is this
Imagine Fallout NV
And Farcry 4 had a Baby
and it got adopted by a Cyborg John Hammond.
If you are on playstation 4, GET THIS GAME RIGHT NOW.
If you are not, BUY A PLAYSTATION AND GET THIS GAME.
What I mean by underrated is that no one talks about it anymore. I know there is probably a better word than underrated but Idc.
Also if this game doesn't get a Sequel I will die from pure unmeasurable sadness.

It's a really good game, but it was extremely overhyped. I think that you're confusing its current level of hype with its peak level of hype. Honestly it felt a little bit like they enjoy the Lost planet franchise a lot.

1 ReplyIt wasn't very good imo. The story was interesting and the graphics were stellar. Collectibles were pretty much pointless, the combat ended up just annoying after awhile. I beat it once and I'll probably never play it again.

Yes it’s an amazing game, defs in my top 5 all time list, but underrated? Dude, everybody said only good things about it, how is it underrated?!
-
Not really it was highly rates when it was put and still is.
-
How is it underrated? I only hear good things about it...

Edited by Panchificus: 1/6/2019 1:52:22 PMUnderrated? No. Overrated? Definitely. I picked up the complete edition for $20 a while back after seeing the all the positive reviews and perfect rating. It’s not at all as good as people say it is. Now I’m not saying that the game is bad. Very far from it actually. The graphics and story were good enough to keep me wanting to play it more. I absolutely loved the (post) post apocalyptic setting and art style of the game. Nothing else like it. But you can definitely tell that it’s the developers first game. It doesn’t really do or try anything new. Which is a shame because the game’s art style is so creative and original but it feels like you’re playing just another open world RPG. One of my main issues is the close quarters combat. It’s shallow and almost pointless. I wish they could’ve done more with that like being able to craft more weapons other than spears using machine parts. And you could argue that they wanted to focus more on stealth since Aloy’s character isn’t one to charge in guns blazing. Okay sure but can we at least get stealth that isn’t mostly hiding in red bushes? So yeah it’s a good game but not great. And for what I got for $20, I can’t really complain too much. Also the game got a good amount of buzz going around it when it was new. As with all new single player games, it ran its course. Once people play the game, finish it and discuss it, they move on.

Looks boring

I. LOVED. That game. It was so fun, and such a great story. I actually got ready at parts. I hope they make a sequel.
-
Game doesn't have a single thing in common with Fallout NV, mostly because NV is an RPG almost to the letter.
-
I wouldn’t say buy a PlayStation just for one game, but Horizon is very good. Besides the lip syncing.

MexicanSunnyDI'm here for the SunnyD that's all. - old
Did you just use Fallout New Vegas because it's post apocalyptic.? -
Pretty sure it was the opposite of underrated
-
It's not underrated. At all. It got lots of recognition for being a great game.

3 RepliesMost people regard it very highly. The problem is Breath of Wild came out on the Switch 2 days after it was released and completely stole all its thunder. From a technical standpoint, Breath of the Wild might be the better game, but I had more fun with Horizon: Zero Dawn.

1 ReplyWhere's does FONV come into this?
-
Um.....in no way was it ever considered underrated. Im on xbox and even i know this.
-
It's one of the best games I've ever played and I've been gaming since the 80's.
-
It's one of the highest rated games of the generation. Y'all need to look at metacritic before throwing around some of the most popular games of the generation around with the word underrated.

1 ReplyEdited by Karmicburden: 1/5/2019 1:08:41 AMit would be better if it is available on things other than ps. like at least pc
doesn't mean I can't pirate it for pc though

for ninjas: just a joke I dont actually pirate games since that hurts the devs making it harder for them to make more good games
It's critically acclaimed, it sold well, the general consensus of players is that it's good—how is it underrated?
-
It's a top notch game, but I don't think it was ever underrated.
-
Wo ever said that? To be faif, i would even say it was slight overrated, but only becouse the game mechanics (gameplay) wasnt my smoothest experience
-
Underrated? Everyone was calling it the best game ever around the time it released. It’s a good game. I love weak point based combat. Wouldn’t call it a must have, though.
-
I wouldn't call it underated. That game got a lot of attention and is generally regarded as a must have for PS4.
