I don’t like to pick a side but I’ll just say this: Which one would you rather have, and be honest 1. Affordable Healthcare Or 2. A Wall One’s attached to a necessity the other is a wall. Imagine breaking a limb and then saying “I may go broke from these medical bills, but I’m glad that wall was built”

First of all the wall was by the DHS, estimated to cost 21.6 billion dollars initially, not including tax dollars spent on maintaining and paying workers on the wall. Second, the reason Medicare gets more attention then the wall, is because illness kills drastically more people than illegal immigrants. Not to mention ladders. And not to mention planes. And not to mention the fact that illegal immigration is at an all time low.

It’s obviously not just about the money. $5 billion is peanuts in the grand scheme of things. The US could probably build 20 walls if it wanted. The issue isn’t whether they [i]can[/i] waste money on it but whether they [i]should[/i] waste money on it. Health care is a necessity. The wall is a pointless vanity project.

We have the money. But we also have people with the soundness of judgement and the healthiness of soul to know that building a wall goes **against** everything this nation stands for....and everything the rest of the world looks to us for leadership on. Not sure where your facts come from, but they are way off. For fiscal year 2017, the entire federal budget was $4T. Out of the entire budget, Medicare accounts for about 15% of the entire budget, so not even close to $1T, let alone four. If we really need money for wall why not ask Trump to return a few of the teens of millions of dollars his resorts have received, and continue to receive, in taxpayer dollars for him and his family visiting multiple times a month.

The wall is pointless, and I'll wager Trump Roast knows it. We have to eliminate opportunities and subsidies for illegals. That will drive them out, and it won't even require construction or force mobilization.

The problem with medicare, and modern medicine in general, is that it spends increasing amounts of money to buy our older people decreasing amounts of life at a decreasing quality.
