Note that he is a very a good player who carried people in D1 & D2 Trials, but even he believes from experience that reaching max Legend rank as a solo player is virtually impossible. The reasons he lays out are getting teammates that are bad/new to the game (terrible matchmaking) while facing experienced 4-stacks with Not Forgotten, cheating & lack of communication. The point loss system and the time-gated nature of seasons also don’t help. So, if you’re a solo player, don’t bother. With the current circumstances, you will just zig zag the ranks without getting anywhere. Bungie is completely ignoring competitive so I don’t think the situation will change; they’re just focusing on D3.
