A PvP Destiny 2 streamer decided to try out getting the gun Not Forgotten by going completely solo in competitive, doing a Series about it, and he streamed every match. Note that he is a very a good player who carried people in D1 & D2 Trials, but even he believes from experience that reaching max Legend rank as a solo player is virtually impossible. The reasons he lays out are getting teammates that are bad/new to the game (terrible matchmaking) while facing experienced 4-stacks with Not Forgotten, cheating & lack of communication. The point loss system and the time-gated nature of seasons also don’t help.
So, if you’re a solo player, don’t bother. With the current circumstances, you will just zig zag the ranks without getting anywhere. Bungie is completely ignoring competitive so I don’t think the situation will change; they’re just focusing on D3.

This is what I was afraid of when they first announced pinnacle Crucible weapons... Anyone who doesn’t have said gun is out at an immediate disadvantage

Period. Brose Isn't the first to say it. Bungie isn't completely ignoring competitive, they've stated that changes to the competitive playlist are going to happen later this month, along with the tweaking of Nova Warp and Telesto. Using an average Youtuber/ Streamers thoughts as proof to validate your concern that Bungie isn't focusing on competitive at all, is intellectually lazy, and shouldn't be taken seriously.

It’s a team based mode that allows solo’s to play. It’s hardly surprising that you can’t get to the top by yourself.
-
2 RepliesBrose is not terrible but he is miles away from being a top tier player.
-
2 RepliesAs long as player numbers are in the gutter (less than 12K across all platforms), comp will ever and always be a mess. Around 4-5K players on any given platform is simply not enough for the matchmaking algorithm to give fair matches without 1/2 hour-1 hour long queue times.
-
1 ReplyYou shouldn’t be able to complete raids solo so why should you be able to get to legend solo. The endgame shouldn’t be easy enough to complete without be in a coordinated team.
-
Comp should be RUMBLE
-
I had this exact experience on console before I switched to Pc and decided not to try again
-
7 RepliesExactly why I will never even attempt to aquire Luna or Not Forgotten. Hell I wont even play a Comp match. 4v4, horrible modes, worse matchmaking and no ranking system. Sorry how is that a competitive mode? Those weapons are not ment for me as a primary PvE player. I am ok with this now that we have Pinnical rewards for PvE.

4 RepliesProposed solution: solo comp, no team allowed, after the server is filled , the software should balance the teams. NO OTHER WAY Or, remove pinnacle weapons
-
If he vpned on Asia servers (on PC) he could get it ;) Brose gets way to angry too fast. I though he was going to pass out on that video where he got locked flying in for 30 mins. Also, his game sense and aim have declined severely since I stopped watching his videos
-
24 RepliesThat dude is not a pro, nobody in destiny is a pro. This guy is a scrub, I guarantee somebody like wishuluck could get it solo.
-
1 ReplyWhat's up, guys? It's your boy Brose here. I don't let tbagging get under my skin, but I tbag when I get tbagged. I made it flawless thousands of times and it's my greatest accomplishment in life. Hahahaha

He’s right though, i don’t care what your k/d is, if you crutch a shotgun, you’re a fkin cheap scrub.
-
4 RepliesShytte streamer and shytteee pvp. Get some guns skills. Plenty of people have gotten legend rank solo. You just believe it’s impossible because it’s impossible for you . And clearly this streamer
-
Lmfao it’s the big bad brose
-
A vid with a streamer crying about how -blam!-ed crucible is? I can just read that daily right here
-
10 RepliesAs i said, it does look like the PVP dev team have took their hands off this game mode (pvp), because both PVP and Comp and terrible broken. In the current state, they need to remove completely the guns from pvp, all the missions to complete other guns thru pvp should be deleted, like Ace quest for example and what not. This is the worst has ever been and definitly the worst type of pvp in any game i have ever played, match making is just BROKEN, it takes all good players and place them in one team and on oposite team all the mid-low level players.
-
1 ReplyThey need to remove the “populating guardians” dial at the bottom right of the screen. That will help, at least somewhat, with solo queues.
-
5 RepliesThe only reason people want solo queue play list is so they can get carried. No one will pick them up on LFG, so they can't do what everyone else is doing and run a 4 stack. They want to be the bad player in a team of solos hoping that the other 3 can carry them through. Hard facts. Git gud.
-
9 RepliesWhy would you for any reason think you should be able to get it as a solo player? It's competitive and highly team based. Are people being extra stupid in 2019 or something?
-
6 Repliesi don’t think there is any competitive game you can solo queue to max rank. Halo? good luck League of Legends? yeah NO the point of higher tier competitive games is to use all the tools you can to win, your teammates and teamwork is essential to every game when playing at really high ranks
-
1 ReplyThis just in, pro football player attempts to win the super bowl with a pick up team and finds out.........hes an idiot.
-
And the sky is also blue?
-
Well no shit.
