Cores are no fun what purpose does it serve exactly I'm still collecting them so I can use it when I have like 2 thousand and to masterwork weapons to level 10 Really ... Make it 5 and with less cores consumed

This company needs to grasp the concept of "if it isn't broken, don't fix it". I will never understand how after going on 5 years how they haven't caught on yet. Bungie biggest flaw in this game is constantly changing things that are Not broken. "We can make it better". What they are actually doing is, only making it better for them for whatever reason. There wasn't anything wrong with the system prior to this change when it comes to the concept of the progression system. All they had to do was make some minor adjustments. [spoiler]The 1 for 1 is still in play, it only cost glimmer to infuse the same items when one is higher. That works. Using other gear to infuse like from another character could have been removed, not leaving the gamer such an easy option. Power engrams are being used as an extended grind just to level up +1. What's funny about that the engrams they're 10 levels higher. So here we are running things like weekly story mission 3 times to level up 1 notch. You know, if the rewards that dropped in some of the events like the weekly story mission were better drops, this forcing gamers to run events like this like they are on a hamster wheel wouldn't have had to take place? You know why? because it human nature playing video games wanting better rewards and when them rewards are placed in the events (most gamers would want to run them,) and they wouldn't have this feeling of being forced just to get 1 little engram. It's an easy concept but what do I know right? Solution? get rid of the power engrams as far as using the events to extend the grind. Put better rewards in the events. Yes still have them drop in the events, but stop using them as the (only option just to get gamers to run on a hamster wheel.)[/spoiler] IMO all the planet vendors, tower vendors, events like EP gear should have been updated to bring up to power level and mods like the new gear. They weren't, so it has left a limited option for gamers to choose what gear they would like to use in this game. Gamers are being forced to use gear they don't like just because they might have a little better stats because of the lack of new gear in this game. You know, like the faction vendors being removed that removed loot from the loot pool. It shouldn't be this way at all. In D1 gamers had a variety of options especially knowing the random roll system that was in place later in the game. So in all, gamers end up using cores they really don't want to so they can level up to run events like the forge that if you don't level up you are pretty much locked out. I could go on, but Bungie's system is broken in the sense of replayability, vendors being used as their intended purpose, events being used as their intended purpose, the progression system knowing the gear in this game has set stats, random rolls are limited and most of it is applied to mobility. Set mods leaving fewer options to improve certain gear. IMO this game needs an overhaul going back to the system D1 had to an extent with most things from events to vendors actually being updated and stop using cores and power engrams as an extended grind.

Guys, I know the solution. Remove masterwork cores entirely and tie masterworking to actually playing the game and using the guns. It's called A LEVEL SYSTEM!!!! Just like in D1. After using a gun for a while it'll masterwork on it's own and you'll get to choose. Wow! Doesn't that sound better than doing a bunch of boring bounties where you have to wait for an enemy to spawn on a certain planet? It also makes it so if you get a godroll but a bad masterwork you don't have to scrap that gun, because you're given the option to choose and it isn't tied to RNG. Also, anyone who says, "It'll make it less hardcore" You're an idiot. They're called "QUALITY OF LIFE CHANGES" a concept that many of you can't seem to grasp. It doesn't make the game easier, it makes it more bearable. What's this? Firing a gun in this game felt awkward?(Any old MH game) well don't worry we've changed it so you can aim better and aren't locked in an animation.(MHW) Wow! Did it make the thing any more easier? No? Then it's not a problem.

Yes they do ^ I was playing last night and have so many guns and armour pieces I can’t use, stuck in vault or just under leveled. Tired of using the same guns for iron banner and strikes because of light dependency and the sheer (SHITE) cost of infusion and upgrading price.

You're lazy if you dont have hundreds of cores after this Dawning event. You people are going to whine and complain til Bungie makes infusion a simple button press with no cost because its easier to complain of this forum than actually make an effort to earn the cores.

While everyone moans about enhancement cores I’ve probably only enhanced a few pieces and used what I got from my milestones, I’m level 650 without using loads of cores and I’m getting the pieces that match my weapons or using weapons that match my pieces. Then when the new mini dlc comes out, the power level increases again so there’s no point wasting enhancement cores

Me and most of my friends got sick and tired of this system and terrible rewards in game, we decided to switch to FFXIV until they remove cores from infusion. Truth be told FFXIV is on a whole new level compared to destiny, sure one is fantasy and the other sci fi but damn the quality is like comparing a Mini Cooper to a Porsche >< bungie could learn a lot from FFXIV devs.

Yes please! I cant even upgrade anymore armor ion,y have 1 core it ridiculous.
