Hunter supers are WEAK in PvE. (They're decent in PvP. Mostly a PvE discussion.)
(Are you people even reading the post? You've been proving my point the entire time. It's kinda funny how any posts about hunters needing buffs get down voted to Reddit hell. Lol.)
All of the hunter supers are trash in PvE. In PvP, they're decent at best. I'm sick and tired of hunters being so weak in PvE though and also tired of ppl saying that with the proper or better exotics they're just fine. IF YOU HAVE TO USE EXOTICS TO MAKE A SUPER POWERFUL AND RELEVANT THAT'S A CLEAR SIGN THAT THE SUPER IS IN NEED OF WORK. Has ANYONE ever used Golden Gun without Celestial? It does pitiful damage even with crit shots. Also, I'd rather use top tree goldie cuz it's more fun but that's even weaker than bottom tree.
Have you ever used Arcstrider without Raiden Flux? The super doesn't last long enough and the damage is, once again, pathetic. Hmm...there's a pattern here...short duration and not enough damage. Don't even get me started on the Nightstalker. The bottom tree has absolutely no purpose other than to make you wonder what the hell the devs were thinking and the top tree is only useful when using Orpheus Rigs. Ever used top tree NS without the Rigs? ABSOLUTELY USELESS. NOT ENOUGH OF A BENEFIT FOR YOU OR YOUR FIRE TEAM. Exotics should complement your build, not be the end all be all or else the build is useless. Super enhancing exotics should only be an option, not a necessity in order to make a super "functional". Supers should be powerful without exotics and even more powerful if you decide to use exotics.
The only hunter super worth a damn without an exotic is Blade Barrage. Even if you don't get super energy back with Galanor it's still very powerful and useful in those moments when you really need it. Spectral Blades are 50/50 in PvE and PvP. Not too good, not too bad. Baton twirl Arcstrider has the same issues as the regular Arcstrider. Something needs to be done to make hunter supers more powerful in PvE. I guess some could use work in PvP as well, but for the most part, they do alright in there.

No just stop. Hunter has the best supers of pve Arc strider for adds and melee dps Tether is well tether Golden gun for burst dps and orb creation Blade burst dps No buffs needed

6 Repliesthis post is just silly. I have been able to solo many many PvE activities simply because of tether. It is IMO the best PvE super in the game. You are the ultimate crowd control in a game that just loves the whole "click this and fight off waves" mechanic. That's not even counting the orb generation in a team activity. One good tether and EVERYONE has their supers. the exotic armor piece SHOULD compliment and make the super dominant. that's the reason they are there. and if you are a hunter in a team PvE activity, why would you run anything but rigs? it is an overpowered exotic that somehow escaped the nerf-happy devs.

It's because it's the general consensus that hunter supers are in a pretty good spot for PvE and PvP with a couple of things that could use attention, like the tethers effectiveness in PvP, but that's pretty much it dude. Everything about hunters is strong. Warlocks have 1 super going for them and titans have the sentinel which has suppression grenades as well as a hard counter to BB as well as hammers which are just a decent super and always have been. Not that it's a competition or anything, but hunters are the most viable class overall in the game, THAT'S why they don't need buffs.

Yeah dude, you're definitely wrong about the quality mod the supers so what's up with that? Hunters have some of the strongest supers in PvE, I'd go so far as to say that they hold 2 of the top 3 supers for PvE, easily. In PvP blade barrage is extremely good, if it weren't you wouldn't see it in pretty much every game. Same with the newly fixed and buffed spectral blades. It feels like Bungie put that bug back in for infinite super cause the only time that thing ever ends is if someone pops a super and manages to kill it. Where are you getting the information that hunters have the worst supers? Titans and warlocks have less useful supers than hunters, easily.

Just stop, now. All Hunter supers are powerful as hell in PvE. We can generate orbs out the wazoo, do a shit ton of DPS, clear a shit ton of ads and get our super back, and we can hold our own very very easily.

2 RepliesDisagree. Blade Barrage with Shards and Tether with Orpheus are two of the best pve supers in the game. Arcstrider with Raiden Flux is borderline overpowered. Golden Gun could use a pve buff, but that’s about it.

2 RepliesClearly, this is a scholar with a firm grasp of all the material. There are absolutely no posts requiring blade barrage hunters for gambit (or forges or EP or blind well), or tethers for shuro chi, and I’ve certainly never in my life heard someone switch to golden gun for Riven. Arc strider is not and never has been the add clearing super of choice for Spire of Stars or a heart run. This individual is definitely astute.

Lol no classes in pve stand out without their exotic. Chaos reach ain't shot without Geo's. I'd never use well without phoenix or Luna's. Nova bomb is garbage without the helmet. I'd never use sentinal without doom fangs. Sunbreaker doesn't even have an exotic to make it better. Striker is terrible. Tether is bad without orphius. Blade barrage is actually acceptable with out the exotic but still shards are worth it. Arc striders is bad without raiden. What's your point?

Edited by michael: 12/28/2018 3:36:01 AMBottom tree golden gun is very good, with or without celestial nighthawk Blade barrage is just a good overall burst damage super and the neutral game can be fun in solo play all of the arcstriders are *decent*, my favourite is way of the wind though top nightstalker is obviously good and it becomes S tier with orpheus rig but it is decent without them spectral blades has some of the best neutral game across all the classes but the super is trash so.. the only really bad ones are six shot goldy and mobieus quiver nightstalker.

Arcstrider does need a perk added to one of the trees where kills extend its duration. Both Titan and warlock have one of those and it helps out a lot in pve.

top tree stalker, it not only shares damage to everything in it, it also causes whatever dies while attached to explode, plus it slows down everything attached and amplifies damage when using a primary or secondary... seems pretty good to me? Bottom tree is orb city... now who benefits from orb generation? Everyone. Goldie isn’t the best pve super when doing end game stuff but it still can do a ton of burst dps regardless of tree and without nighthawk. Strider is still insanely powerful for crowd control, even with the advent of the crown stormcallers pole dancer is still an absolute monster for cc even without raiden. BB has amazing burst dps and great cc depending on what you wanna do. Spectral isn’t amazing in pve but shattering strike is one of the most powerful abilities for pve in the game, even edging out MP specifically because you don’t need a charged melee to use it. I’m gonna have to disagree with you, I love my hunter and it’s what I primarily play so I can speak from experience when I say hunters are incredibly powerful in both aspects of the game.

3 RepliesI main a hunter, have since D1. Hunter supers are the bomn in pve and i will explain why. Golden gun does do a ton of damage weather you use top tree for crits or bottom for the extra shots, the throwing knife is great either way and all of the grenades are fun. Bb is all around awesome, the mele ability recharge is so much fun to play around with and can even take out mobs if played right. Arcstrider is not as fun as Blade dancer BUT. you can clear ads like no tommorow and many will say its the hunters besr bet for dpsing a boss. The whirling block is a great ability, it litteraly blocks EVERYTHING and then does more damage on top of reflecting. Nightstalker is the pve hunter master class, especially when running in a team. You don need the rig to become an orb factory. Top tree is the bomb in escalation. You fire a tether and everything takes more damage and gets slowed. Its great. Botom tree is also great for more scattered work and blocking spawn points. Plus one of the trees lets you go invis after a dodge. Last man alive? Dodge, invis, revive your team, keep oooooonnnn rockin Wraith is a bit odd, its amazing but its far more passive in the sense that its intended to be used for sneaking more than dpsing but you can do that too! Honestly night stalkers down side is only the smoke grendade, thats it.

Are you slow? Hunters have some of the best. DPS and ad clear supers in the game.
