Solo Competitive PVP Matchmaking
Hey guys, so does anybody if bungie's gonna fix that 4 stack problem or that you have to play against high ranks even if you're low rank. It feels punishing. Can't help it but it ruins the overall experience, it should be challenging no question but not unfair.

1 ReplyThe only thing that is clear with bungee is they don’t care about solo. They care about low overhead, max profit and least engagement with the players.

They have no idea what they're doing. They keep 'recognizing' it as an issue but still no fix, or mention of a fix. There are so many things wrong with this game, I wouldn't hold your breath.

I hate competitive, it’s incredibly demoralizing when you’re fighting against a 3-4 stack and you have 2 other randoms because someone quit early. I try so hard to work towards my pinnacle weapons but don’t get rewarded for it. I don’t understand why it has to be this way.

Competitive ironically isn't competitive. The system is a joke--always has been. When you lose a control match 16-103 there's a serious problem. The other team was clearly levels ahead of you in pure skill and that's ok, but why the fu-- are you being matched with someone of that caliber? The short answer is resets, but Bungie should also be preparing to recalibrate the matchmaking system accordingly when season resets occur

7 RepliesBe honest, what you’re really asking for is easy mode in competitive, because you’re not good enough, and/or too lazy to form your own team. “Fair” Isn’t guaranteeing you easy matches every game. Fair is doing your part and earning your way to the top ranks, not having things handed to you. Either form your own team, or accept that you’re playing in a competitive mode where teams have advantage. If you choose to play solo, that’s entirely on you.

1 ReplyI’ve been solo queuing since Everyone has been moaning about 4 stacks. I’ve only faced 4 teams of 4 lost to 3 of them. 2 from the same team they were pretty good, 1 from this team that wasn’t great but unfortunate I was stuck with poopoo players. Started at Brave 1 now I’m almost at Heroic 2 it’s not as bad as people on the forums make it out to be, I’ve already had a lot more fun playing this season than last season.

Bungie has wrestled with creating Balance since D1, it will never be fixed! You could take a risk using the fireteam option through the app and hope that the players are good and worth while

I get tired of trying to carry people. And it makes me look bad too. But damm if people only knew how to play objective and learn the spawn points and how to maintain heavy?

Most likely, nothing will change. What most of the idiots here don't realize is that solo players make up the majority of the playerbase. If they don't play, then the playlist dies even quicker. You need to make their time worthwhile and make them feel like they have a chance.

You can fix the 4 stack problem yourself by just leaving the que for competitive if 4 people join at once

There are a lot of posts like this, and I doubt it will be fixed, but this one was nice to read cos it was presented in such an agreeable non condescending manner. For that I thank you. Hope more people write their opinions/complaints like this. Thanks Have a nice day

I love it... Love that this matchmaking isn't sbmm. Nor is it point based like old trials was. And it's supposed to prioritize connection! All that means is the kid down the street with all the skill and 5500 glory will stomp on my team that's sitting between 1500-1900 collectively... Actually I would love to see a first score based take effect over all. Skill will sort it's self out as you climb to your respective ranks. Connection doesn't matter as much in a game that has the community come and go. Just make it so someone from Cali isn't playing with someone in Denmark... Keep Europe in Europe. The states in the states. And screw the Australians! Lol. No but really keep it within a range and you won't have much worry over connection... Even with this new twab most of the connection problems are due to how far apart your game is trying to make matches for.
