Favorite snow/ice spells/weapons in games?
Bonjam everyone! This is Aifos coming to you alive from my secret underground laboratory, with my bodyguard and apparently research assistant, Papika, who’s going to help me test out my new spell!
Papika: “No I’m not! Last time I helped you with a spell it involved you shooting me with it!”
Well of course. Don’t you remember what Mr. Tucker taught us? Human experimentation is a requirement to advance science, and in this case, magic!
Papika: “Aifos, he’s a bad guy!”
He is? I don’t remember him doing anything bad..
Papika: “What about Nina!?”
Nina? I don’t remember any Nina. Though, I do remember paying the Order of the Blind Eye for something..
Papika: “Aifos, they’re [i]also[/i] bad guys!
Fine, you win! We’ll just [i]talk[/i] about magic, instead!
Specifically, cryomancy! That is to say, ice spells! Although, let’s expand that to include weapons as well, ‘cause why not? It’s the holiday season, and the holiday season is renowned for its blistering cold, and icy sidewalks, so what better to talk about?
Ice weaponry, and magics have been some of my favorite types of weapons/spells ever since I was a wee li’l Aifos. There’s just something really awesome about the stuff, y’know? And freezing your enemies solid is a nice touch, too.
So, the only limits being it somehow relating to ice, and/or snow, what are your favorite powers, spells, weapons, etc. in video games?
And an obligatory [i]the cold never bothered me anyway![/i]

Favorite ice/snow weapons/spells/abilities in video games?
My answer:
[spoiler]Does just saying “Elsa” count? No? Okay.
In Kirby: Star Allies, you can imbue various abilities with elements. This provides a variety of effects depending on what you imbue, but my favorite has to be Susie’s mech, imbued with ice.
Susie’s mech has a variety of attacks; a ground pound, a spin attack, and missiles. The ground pound in particular makes spikes of ice shoot up all around you, in a devestating display of power. I [i]love[/i] it![/spoiler]

3 RepliesFriede's Great Scythe. I just adore this weapon so much. The reasons aren't all too complicated either. I just love Friede as a character, her fight is so awesome and I usually die because I gush about it so much lol. I also like the whole bringing a second scythe out and just comboing everything. As a honorable mention, I love the ice hat in a hat in time! It's an adorable beanie! Then again, everything in that game is adorable...

6 RepliesMy attempt at thinking of a cold-based Warframe weapon that I liked took me to the to one of the Warframes themselves. This Warframe is Frost, the Ice Warframe. Like all warframes, he has four abilities: -An Ice Bolt that can freeze enemies -An Ice Wave that deals a cone of damage along the ground. -A Snow Globe. A defensive geometric ball that can be shot out of but not into. It also slows down enemies who try entering it. -A Blizzard that freezes enemies in a radius of Frost and then deals a great amount of damage to them. Frost is often the go-to warframe for defensive operations with his Snow Globe. 2 RepliesNot purely ice but ice is a big part. In [i]Final Fantasy XIV[/i] the Black Mage has elemental magic (the classic [i]Final Fantasy[/i] trifecta of Fire, Lightning and Ice). Lightning is a basic DoT. You can either cast a longer lasting single target or a shorter AoE version. Fire and ice both build stacks of their respective elements (Astral Fire and Umbral Ice). Fire is the more powerful element and Astral Fire stacks make your fire spells stronger but increases their MP cost and halts MP regeneration. They also decreases Ice MP costs and power. Ice isn't so powerful but it has a bit more utility. Umbral Ice makes your ice spells stronger at a higher cost but increases your MP regeneration (as well as decreasing Fire costs and power). Ice 4 also gives you three Umbral Hearts, which can be used to negate the additional cost of fire spells under Astral Fire. Then there's Freeze which both does damage and binds enemies (prevents them fron moving). Basically, this creates a back and forth Mechanic for Black Mages where they need to be continuously casting to keep up their momentum (Astral Fire/Umbral Ice stacks) but also dancing between fire and ice so they don't burn out of MP.

But I did this build in fallout 4 rotating around using the Cyrolator, cryo grenades, and Cryo mines, and some power armor (no helmet) over a hazmat suit to make a kind of Mr. Freeze character for the fun of it. It wasn't particularly good build, but it was a pretty fun setup.

3 RepliesPontiff knight scythe Lots of fun to be had with a large scythe which causes frostbite in its targets, I enjoyed invading people and using it against them. Plus Imbuing the blade with frost had such a cool animation and on top of that rapid applied frostbite to anyone who was too close to you They've got High armour? I don't care, frostbite. Low stamina cost attacks? Still don't care, frostbite. Janky hitboxes on an ultra greatsword with a max poise build? Ok that one is a challenge, mayyyybeeee I'll be able to kill it

When they are first summoned one will constantly attack with ice and the other will just heal snow. Then whenever you want, you can combine them and it transforms into an awesome bike, that can do a verity of ice forming bike attacks!: - Wheelie - Create an icicle path, ramming into the foe - SpinFreeze - Spin the bike and create and AOE ice freeze attack - Ice drift - Ride into the foe and drift onto them with icicle powa - Ice Ramp - Create a tower of ice in front of foe, ride on it and do a backflip because logic isn't fun and fanatsy is amazing - Also deal damage - Diamond dust - Just like Spinfreeze but with tons more ice and deals damage to everything. When all is said and done they leave battlefield with an icy blow kiss for snow >_> <_< Snow also wears the most awesome of coats !
