**Spoiler**Visor cracking effect from "Lone Wolf"- Use in other modes?

I thought the visor cracking effect in "Lone Wolf" was awesome! Something we've never seen before, really gave the whole thing a desperate and unique feel. Its a shame its only been used that one time! Any chance of it being implemented in something else like multiplayer of firefight? The most perfect use I can think of would be in Firefight when you are down to your last life. You may not know you have no lives left but when you see your visor cracking you know you're in trouble. Thoughts? Comments? [Edited on 09.28.2010 9:00 PM PDT]

 • Hm, would be cool as a specific helm/armor effect. Or perhaps a little toggle in the main armory section normal/battle damaged. Battle damaged has visible scorch marks and such on it, and there are some visor cracks visible to yourself and other players.

 •
Posted by: greenbean82 I think it'd be a nice touch across ALL game modes. Of course, were it implemented in MatchMaking....GOD FORBID, all the punks who have already been crying about this game would cry even harder. The way it'd work in my idea....your visor wont start to crack till your health gets down to the orange bars. The closer you get to dying, the more it cracks and impairs your vision, and will stay as such until you grab, say...a Health Pack? I swear to God, I'm the only player who uses the damn things across all my games, I've NEVER seen an empty Health Pack station. It would give an incentive to use them more often. But as I said, the whiney little babies on these forums who can't accept new things would cry about it, thus making it never possible for this game, at least in MM. Perhaps Custom Games/Firefight? However, I need to ask some of you who would go against it: Did you ever use the Riot Shield in MW2? It'd be the same exact concept, but yet you're fine with it in a different game?
health packs in multiplayer don't disappear, only firefight.

 • Sounds cool, but I just see myself getting pissed when I'm on my last life and not dying while the visor is still getting more cracks..

 • I'd be for this in firefight if it was a skull-like effect you could choose to have on (it really does mess with your vision so you should get some nice score multipliers for having it on).

 • Would be pretty much the same thing as the blood effect in each Call of Duty game.

A great single player game of its time (the multiplayer was lacking).
You know, I am STILL to this freaking day, amazed by that game. It's great even by today's standards, it really is. Nothing quite beats bashing a droid's head off and having your visor covered in coolant/oil/etc, then having it wiped off by a freaking laser.
Man, I'm getting JFO just because you reminded me of That Game. Now which commando to be?

 • I'm not as wowed by the visor cracking in the Lone Wolf level because I've seen those kinds of touches in Metal Gear Solid games all the time. It's standard fare to me. Not to be rude to other people intentionally, but if you're mind-blown by Reach's aesthetic touches, then you haven't played enough games yet. Everything done in Reach has been done in other games in one console life or another.

 • WANT! Surely there could be a toggle in the map or game type variants where you could alter the settings, if people are worried about having a screen full of cracks..

 • Probably would be an impairment, which is why it would probably only be good in Firefight with or specific Game Variants.... [Edited on 09.28.2010 11:13 PM PDT]

 • My friends and I came up with this idea back before the good ol' Halo 2 days. Having this feature seen in multiplayer wouldn't be a bad touch at all.
