So, my bow just dropped with rangefinder. I find that strange as bows don't have a range stat nor a velocity stat (rockets and grenade launchers receive extra velocity with rangefinder). Can anyone tell me how rangefinder affects a bow? Is it just better accuracy and aim assist at range? Maybe it has less damage drop.off at extreme distances? Or is it just a useless perk slot because Bungie accidentally added it to the perk pool of a bow? Lol

So this has been bothering me too for awhile cause i love bows and especially with lightweight. I have 3 rolls with Spiteful Fang. One with Rangefinder, one with Moving Target, and another one where I put a Targeting Adjuster mod. I jumped into the raid alone to do damage tests. I was getting a 1586 head shot damage at 155+ meters (measured with D.A.R.C.I.) on all 3 bows, so it looks like range drop off for Rangefinder on bows doesn't exist. Which makes sense since they don't have a range stat. Not sure how the accuracy works, but i did test long range shooting from the hip and ADS with all 3 bows, and the one that I think did the best was the bow with just the Targeting Adjuster mod, then Moving Target Perk, then Rangefinder Perk. From what it looks like, Rangefinder Perk may be a wasted perk for bows. I had high hopes that it would do something great, but I couldn't find anything where it showed anything different from bows without it.

2 RepliesDoesn’t increase effective range? Damage drop occurs at a longer distance. I could be wrong. I got a similar roll.
