Exactly. It's another part of the reason I hate the fact that everyone who was complaining last year about the dawning having the only gear to earn behind eververse is either defending this event or they don't care to talk about it. The cookie baking and sparrow were clearly an afterthought just added so that people wouldn't think that there's nothing to earn when in reality, the only difference between the event and playing as normal is the buttons you press and the extra visits to everyone.
