Its not Bungies fault youre not 600

Hear me out please. Im not saying "Git Gud" or anything like that. I realize RNG is not always kind and I have my gripes with it...but... Forsaken came out in september. That was three months ago. If you where 380 by the time Forsaken dropped, just doing the story alone should have given you a huge boost. I tried to get "Raid Ready" to play with a team for worlds first but with a full time job, wife, and kid, i couldnt find the time. I was fine with that though. I got up to about 510 or 520 and i didnt start right away. I was enjoying the story and then got back to running milestones. Point is. I hit 600 forever ago. Some weeks I play two hours, five days a week. Some weeks I get to play more, depending on real life's demands. Now I only main one character, i got my titan from 10 to 380 after solstice but before forsaken and then made a warlock (not far on that one) just a few days before black armory. So some of you may say thats because I only main one character. And yeah, maybe so, but if I wanted to my titan would also be up to 600, I just prefer my hunter. I run my main character for new content and to stay current. And the other two are for fun. And I can be 600 wearing Dreaming, crucible, or strike armor on my main so it isnt like I only have one good set of armor. I guess my ultimate point here is that if you dont play enough to have at least one character at 600, then you just dont play enough. It doesnt mean you suck or your life sucks or anything, your just not there yet dude. It isnt Bungies fault if you only have time to play one hour here or there. Some people have horrible rng and yeah man im sorry, that sucks, Cant tell you how many edge transits i got trolled with but we have had plenty of time to get there. To clarify. I DO AGREE. That the forges should probably have been stepped as they released so each one would be increasingly difficult. Or maybe do something like in blind well where you have a bit more control on the level of difficulty and therefore the reward. But do you really want the forge to become some easy activity that no one wants to do Anymore?

  • To be honest if they'd come out in advance and said "oh by the way chaps Black Armory will have 600+ power requirements" it would've given anyone below there a chance to level up to maximum before it dropped. Literally no dlc/expansion before has required max power before playing until now..

    • when your power progression is based on your luck, that's on the developer not the player

      • It's not a matter of having the time to play, it's needing to play everything to progress fast enough. Most people don't enjoy every single activity a game like Destiny has to offer, yet because of how high light drops are dished out right now many players find themselves having to choose between making progress or enjoying themselves. Why should I play Crucible just to get a powerful drops if I hate competitive play? The whole point of a game is to enjoy it, not treat it like a second job. You also have to consider that pretty much everyone was blindsided by this. Past experience has taught us that new content drops come with easy starter content to get you in the new stuff fast and then the high level endgame comes later. We had no reason to believe that high light levels would be necessary for anyone wanting to dive right into the new content, that was not sufficiently communicated before BA's release.

      • Actually it is as bungie gave the base game away for free 4 weeks ago to get more new players and to get them to buy forsaken + the Anal pass. Then bungie dident give those new players anyway of playing content from the Anal pass which could of been easily avoided buy moveing the soft cap to 600 a week before the drop of black armory. Even then there are players who have had the game a long time who are not 600 because thay have real lives and dont sit on there backside playing 24/7 or streaming and begging for handouts on twitch.

          • When did gamers get so entitled? It's a game, if you PLAY IT, you will, slowly but surely, PROGRESSSSSS... If you hate the way a game is, don't buy the next expansion... simple as that. Buy Anthem when it comes out and your money can go to Bioware instead. You'll probably get the same thing, but that's not my concern here. You could TASTE the salt 1 day after BA dropped. The DLC sucked -according to the everyone that posted about it, The DLC was out for 1 day. Bungie told players it would be a drip-feed of content, but apparently the community listens worse than Bungie does.

            • I agree. The abreaction was totally disproportionate to the reality of the situation, as is this communities wont with anything new/different/existing/imagined lol. That said, power level aside, this launch landed with a thud re: story, quest involvement... it just feels very slapdash so far. I’ll save final judgment for when it’s all out there and understood, but so far, this hasn’t exactly inspired the base.

            • People actually have trouble reaching 600? I didn't know people were complaining about it, I found it ridiculously simple and easy to get there. I didn't play daily either, To anybody who complains about it, just don't, its on you for not being able to do an easy task on your own without the Dev holding your hand

              • This honestly wouldn't have been a problem had it been free. When people buy something they expect something in return. This is paid DLC and there was no clarification, pre-release, on what power level you needed to be to start these endgame activities. That meant some people could not play content that they paid for. Bungie did not make it clear that you needed to be 615 to decently start the forge. That kind of information would have changed peoples minds on buying the annual pass because THEY KNEW they couldn't do it. I want the forge to be difficult. I really do. But this wasn't the right way to go about it. It should have relied on mechanics and strategy. Not an arbitrary power level that literally locks some people out.

                • People are funny. I was 600 Tuesday and got to 613 Sunday, LFGd specifically asking for 620s and that I needed help and did the Forge in one go. They'd rather waste time complaining in the forums rather than play. Do your Milestones. Simple as that. And those that weren't 600 or even 595 last Tuesday are not the people Destiny should be catering to. I missed 3 weeks and some weeks I didn't do all Milestones and I STILL made it to 600 in time for reset. People just need some patience and to set goals. You'll feel more accomplished after it all. Like I keep saying, maybe this will help people who ditch the game to realize that they should be a bit more consistent in playing D2, even if it is just to pop in once or twice a week and hammer out Milestones real quick.(People say it's a grind but they add variety of missions to choose from daily so you're not always doing the same thing unless you're choosing the short missions to complete them quicker every time. If that's the case that's on you for not choosing the variety they do give.) Also on another note I think people are failing to see that Forsaken is a year long DLC. Annual Pass is supposed to add to that. Think of it as icing on muffins. They're dank by themselves but the icing just adds that little extra umph. That's what the Pass basically is doing. Just play instead of typing in the forums and you'll be able to do the BA stuff in no time.

                  • The issue is that Bungie sold the content without announcing the requirement. It is not unreasonable to expect that when I make a purchase and they take my money, that I get something in return. Bungie knew that if they made the requirement public before the release they'd enjoy fewer sales, so their solution was to obfuscate the requirement, because once they have the money they can just refuse to give it back and tell you it is your fault. They saw a way to steal people Christmas money and they chose that way over transparency. I gave them my money under the pretense that I was going to get something in return. They took the money, and gave me nothing in return. That is the entire issue.

People aren't upset they're not 600+ light. People are upset that the forge requires you to be 600+ light to play it.

                      • All I’m going to say is that Destiny is a looter shooter and a big part of its appeal is RNG-orientated. So if you don’t like that then 1. don’t buy the game or 2. don’t play the game.

I completely agree with you, people had 3 months to grind it out even if they didn't have much time they still had well enough time to play to get to at least 590. People must understand that

                      • Yep...so many people playing casually and complaining that's it's game that requires time investment...bungee has explained that it's the type of game they are making and basically, if you don't have time, you don't have time...there are plenty of games that require less time and having one that does inlsnt going to kill anyone. If you are behind, that's ok, you will catch up and the content will still be there. The major problem is people feel like they have to keep up with the Joneses or they are left out. If you want to play casually, that's cool but don't expect to be on the same level as the hobbyist, because this is a game designed for hobbyists...straight from bungies lips

                        • I like challenging content just as much as anyone else but having to grind out shitty RNG gear for 100 levels isnt fun. Especially when they made upgrading your current gear cost cores, quad shards, random planet loot, and finally glimmer to boot. I liked the game more when it cost a few shards to upgrade, made more sense since you would frequently get shit you dont want and it was random and u could upgrade the gear you actually do WANT easily from weapons and armor that wasnt as good/you didnt need/want/like. Now I see everyone running around with shitty RNG gear from forsaken cause they made it a chore to upgrade. Sad. Bungie, rollback the Dismantle concept. Good day.
