Just as the title states.
For example my titan is my highest leveled character and surpasses my warlock and hunter by a long shot. I know in the past people were saying that only weapons count towards your powerful gear drops on different characters.
So does that mean if I transfer my highest titan leveled armor to my hunter it won't affect his power level armor drops? Others say it's account wide and that the game calculates your highest possible light level. Some say throw the gear in your vault.
I read up some of this on Reddit but there were a lot of mixed responses. Some are saying:
-Yes
-No
-Yes and across account
-Yes but weapons across account only.
So I have yet to determine the correct answer. I would like some clarification on this so I don't go moving things between characters and it being pointless.

Only weapons...not armor.

1 ReplyMy advice, dont take advice from the forums. Put all of your highest level gear on the character you want to level, (armor and weapons, even if they're a different class, you DO NOT have to equip them), note your Power level, complete a Challenge (Daily Heroic Adventure or Crucible match is the quickest), see what that piece of gear drops at. If its 2 or 3 above your current level, then armor does not count. Example: Equipped, (on character) Kinetic: 602 Energy: 587 Power: 603 Helmet: 590 (600) Arms: 596 (600) Chest: 591 (603) Legs: 589 (602) Class: 585 (603) Overall Power 592 (600) If your engram is 595ish, no armor doesnt count, if its 602ish, it does. I dont think other classes armor on a character affect their Power level at all though.

If your character can equip a piece of gear, it will be factored into their maximum possible light. It’s account wide, you don’t need to transfer anything.

Tip: don't let the level gap between characters get too wide. If you equip all 600 weapons and have say all 500 armour, if your powerful reward is a weapon it will be lower than 600 but higher than your overall power.

6 RepliesEdited by Munchies: 12/11/2018 4:14:53 PMLet me help you. YES they do on diferent characters. YES they do on the same characters - but your powerful drops will be only of the lowest tier for every completion after the first one. NO they don't work if they are in your vault. They have to be in your invertory and you must have equipped them at least once. So if you are lvl 20 you won't be able to power level with weapons for lvl 50 ... Clear? Pro tip: Use Destinyitemmanager.com

3 Repliesyou don't need to transfer, just having them in the vault will increase alt characters light level drops. for instance if your highest primary is a sniper, but you don't use snipers, put in the vault, and use whatever gun you want, the game still counts your light level as if you had the sniper equipped.

1 ReplyOnly weapons unless they're the same class. And you do not need to transfer it, if your highest light weapon is on your Titan, your Hunter still counts as if it had that high of a weapon in its inventory.

2 RepliesYou cant infuse titan armor into your hunter. Infusing must be class specific. As people have mentioned, only weapons can be transferred over to help with the grind.
