In Destiny 1 this was the April update that was for (free)

Can anyone tell me how this new DLC is better than D1 update and how it's actually worth its price knowing old content like the festival is being used to fill in that void of new content?

I don’t even touch this game anymore. Wished I would have never pre ordered.
-
I never pre-order anything from this company. I usually wait for a bit and then I will buy when it's worth the price. The update should have been free.
-
This isn't an update. They reintroduced content you paid for that had been retired arbitrarily by Bungie. They did not deserve praise for this and it's not necessarily analogous to what they're doing now. As weak as this new stuff is it is actually new.
-
Whatever anyone wants to call it, it's still content gamers paid for and it's weak at best. You can get bounties from the Black Armory but they are rewards for stuff from Y1. I'm like WTH is this, I want new rewards, not things I have already grinded for hundreds of time already. This is the problem with this game. The loot pool is so dry it's not funny at all.
-
If the only reason you play this game is for the dopamine associated with randomly being rewarded with some gear, chances are you don't actually the like game, you're just addicted. "Sweet loot" shouldn't be a selling point, so don't let Bungie sell it.
-
I already knew they weren't going to offer much. But at least they could have added replayable content and kept the vendors relevant. Look at Xur and where are the faction vendors, Oh, and way was ikoras inventory removed. It's been this way for months and with this new DLC, things should have been updated like the empty Gunsmith. It isn't all about the loot but there is only so many times you can run the same events over and over knowing how slow the progression is in this game before it becomes a headache.
-
Campaign to have the "progression," arbitrary and poorly designed as it is, removed. The increase in light level illustrates just how flawed their design is. Aside from being entirely pointless it actually diminishes end game content by effectively retiring previous content from relevancy despite them asserting an expansion to the end game. I would much rather see all current content made relevant to the end game than get replaced with more boring blind wells.

Never got a chance to fully get into destiny 1, but i wish i hadn’t ever put money into destiny 2, even I know destiny 1 is way better and it came out 4 years ago and i wish i had gotten into it at the time, its a shame that fortnite is a free game that gets more updates and actually does things the community wants, while this crap game charges people for every major update that barely even improves the game and then complains they don’t make enough money, you know for a looter fps game that claims it is an mmo rpg, this game can learn a lot from a real mmo called the elder scrolls online who started off just like destiny, a game that did not fulfill promises but in one year was able to turn that all around for free and became one of the best mmos out right now, doesn’t make sense how a destiny 1 free update does more than a destiny 2 $10 dlc or how these troglodytes like to put it, “extra end game content” yup exactly pay more just to play the same we have been doing for a year!

IMO a lot of this has to deal with how thing changed over the years. Things like the key devs that left this company, a lead that shouldn't have ever been a lead, their new IP that is taking away the time that should be put in this game etc... What we see now is what we can expect from this company from here on out. I wish it wasn't this way but nothing we say will ever change the direction this company is headed with this game.
-
I just hope Anthem is great and they add pvp at some point. On the other hand though, Bungie could get there stuff together and start delivering great products but i don’t see that happening anytime soon. How they could go from Forsaken to this is like two different companies are making this game.
-
I have a buddy alpha testing it now and he is loving it, for what it's worth. I know it's just the alpha, but still... raised my hopes a smidge. Purportedly there will be a free "beta" available to everyone in early February.
-
Yeah I was in the alpha.
-
hope they don't add pvp. just my opinion. ruins pve content sometimes. can add more story instead of having to work on balancing sandbox.
-
More like, how could they go from ROI to this? Their cheap mechanics are not helping any either throughout the game mods like gambit and now this forge.
-
I just wish I had not bought the annual pass before seeing what it was, but thats on me. Never again.

I kind of knew what to expect but didn't think it was going to be this bad. I'm just passing time until Anthem comes out and waiting for Halo 6 which will take up my time.
