You're supposed to wait outside for a few seconds just outside of the entrance.

With any other lost sector, as soon as the outside world has loaded/the game recognizes you've changed areas you can turn right back around and repeat it. Also, this is a bit of a non-answer since waiting outside doesn't do anything. As stated, I need to leave the area completely in order to repeat the lost sector.
