BLACK ARMORY UPDATE!

Effective immediately, we’ve made some changes to the Power requirements for the Lost Forges of the Black Armory. In previous conversations about the Season of the Forge, we discussed our new development goals. With the Annual Pass, we set out to deliver an extension to the Destiny 2 endgame. We want to create a series of aspirational challenges to keep your hobby fresh. Over the past day, we’ve been taking in your feedback. It's become clear that we made the initial Power requirements for the Lost Forges too high, keeping those sweet new rewards out of reach. Some players at 600 Power have been unable to dive in and beat the final boss without grinding for new Power first. We have just delivered a server-side update to reduce the Power requirements for all the encounters in the Lost Forges by five. We fully acknowledge that this is a small move, but it is the one that we can make today. This is not the full extent of the changes to the player experience that we are investigating, but it should give Guardians at 600 Power a better chance at completing the activity. This response doesn’t answer all of your questions. There are still many of you asking how you can catch up and acquire the Power you need to join the quests to recover these Lost Forges. The answers to those questions are coming. We have some existing plans and some new ideas in the pipeline. That conversation will continue tomorrow in “This Week At Bungie.” Thanks for playing. Thanks for your feedback. Keep reporting on your experiences out there in the wild.

  • So is anyone going to talk about the super frustrating amounts of error codes were getting? I love Destiny but getting kicked to orbit over and over again is so annoying please fix I barely even get to play the dlc because of this.

      • Any chance we can see improvements in the matchmaking for the forges? Examples: *Queing solo only to be put in by yourself. *Queing solo and being placed in a match that has ended or seconds away from ending.

We need a retune of exotics to be better. I’m going over all classes to make them viable in both pve and pvp. There’s are just my initial thoughts. so feel free to give valid imput if you thing something needs a change that I’ve missed. I want diversity and this is the best way to do it. Sunbracers- causing damage with a charged melee also applies Viking Funeral from all solar abilities. Extends to 7 seconds from 4 Winters Guille- is a joke compared to wormgod caress. It also needs to increase duration like worm god caress does as well as increasing the damage. Apply the thrall chilled effect to meleed targets. Slows enemy movement and they loose their abilities like a supresor Nezerac Sin- works with all solar, arc and void damage Claws of ahamkara- need an additional perk to just two melees. Charged melee hits give random energy back to grenades. (Can even get a full charge. Chromatic Fire - Needs a bigger and fast explosion radius. Eye of another world- Highlighting enemies does absolutely nothing and hell even scopes do that. Killing highlighted enemies now starts super regeneration. Sanguine Alchemy- Needs to work with attunement of grace. Marked target a applies a matched subclass soul. Arc Soul- chains lighting to nearby enemies and stacks x3 Void souls drains the enemy of health and heals the user Solar soul- applies damage over time and spreads fire to nearby enemies Vesper of radius- Needs to also work with attunement of grace. Enemies nearby by a healing rift or empowering rift take damage over time. Matches subclass damage. Activation of rift and attunement of Grace applies a huge blast radius. Damage equal to landfall. Phoenix Protocol- now also works with rifts Stag- you are harder to kill while standing in a rift. Works with attunement of grace as well as Empowering and healing rift. When critically wounded with a charged rift faster rift activation Wings of the sacred dawn - removes all in air accuracy penalty. For if I’m gonna be floating in the air give me a reason to do so. Reduces aerial movement cooldown. Doesn’t apply while in super. But works with blink and Icarus dash. And grants Icarus dash to middle and bottom tree dawnblade Apotheosis veil- Fully heals the user on super activation and drains slower. While using aerial movements radar stays active. Skull of dire ahamkara- Remove damage resistance whirl activating nova bomb. Enemies killed while devour is active also grants super energy. Aeon soul- Grants charging to arc grenades. Consume arc grenade by charging it granting arc soul that follows you doing increased damage Veritys Brow- kinetic kills reduce grenade cooldown, special kills grant melee cooldown and heavy kills grant super cooldown Titan Exotic Buff list - Khepris horn- code of the devastator hammer throw emits chained damage taking damage reduce the cooldown of your barricade Eternal warrior- Code of the missile kills also grant super energy and reduces cooldown Ashen wake- improves all solar grenades damage. Enemies killed by grenades reduce melee cool-down Antaeus ward. Reflects all incoming damage as long as you are sliding. So you don’t need to be facing the target Mark 44 stands aside- also grants juggernaut shields. Slight delay to draw weapon up Hallowfire Hart- Enemies felt by your grenades and melee while super is charged. Does more damage while in super Lion rampant- Reduces in air accuracy penalty Feedback fences- Also while activating code of the missile with stored energy doubles blast radius and damage Crest of alpha lupi- Enemies fallen from super restore a small amount of health. Enemies killed while code of the devastator increase movement speed and duration Doom Fang Pauldron- Grant an additional shield throw multi kills from shields fully recharge shield throws. Void damage from grenades and melee grant super energy. Charged melee bottom tree sentinel becomes a shield throw when in super. Not a ohk Aeon Sage- When critically wouded while running creates foot prints that Matches sub class and explode if landed on. Armamterium- also gives an additional Barricade charge Actruim war rig. Steadily reloads all full auto weapons. While also granting handling Peacekeepers- while in ward of dawn you don’t expand armor. Blocking with sentinel code of the commandor increases movement speed Hunters Aeon Swift- Grants combustion to golden gun. Enemies killed by combustion extend golden gun duration Sealed ahamkara grasps- Dodge emits a void anchor where you last were. Triggered anchors suppress enemies abilities Mechaneers trickslevees- while critically wounded random energy is returned to dodge , melee and grenade Wormhusk- Quick kills after dodging while critically wounded start health regen Graviton Forefit- Increases damage of quiver shots and thether effects. Veil of shadows granted to all void auttunements Ophida Spathe- Grants two melee charged per subclass. Melee hits reduce you next melee cooldown Young ahamksra spine - Tripmines can stick to any surface including guardians. Trip mine blast radius attached to walls has a larger blast radius. Trip mines give a low tint of red expanding triggered activation Lucky raspberry- improves arc abilities. Tempest strike does considerably more damage. Raider Flux- deflecting with way of the current incoming damage extends duration for a short while as well as chained hits buff damage and duration. Foetracer- allies fallen nearby expand radar and grant cooldown to abilities. Lucky pants- can activate dodge in air. Dodging while flinched have a chance to add a bump to health

          • Is the season of the Forge a limited time event? Will the Forges go away once the next season starts or will it remain as an activity? I am not sure if I will be able to reach a high enough level to take part if it will go away once the new season begins. It is no big deal as I have spent more for less before, I just do not want to bother spending time to get close and then have it go away. I am asking because it seems as if "timers" are used a lot so it almost makes sense that the Forges availability would also be limited in time.

              • The way this was handle is f'n terrible. I tried playing this "dlc" again today. You can't get anywhere at all with it. You put out "content" that requires you to be 615. Then you change it to 610. Changing it 5 power level helped slightly. I actually passed the first wave.. But then what? nothing. You can't beat the next wave that is 620. So you don't get to unlock anything in the game at all until you level up. But leveling up requires you to do a ton of shit and even then, if you do all the daily and weekly stuff. You are lucky if you gain 3 power levels cause of the god damn infusion cores that are required to do so. So on top of this bullshit, you guys will probably put out the raid that says "required power level 625". . .get the -blam!- outta here bungie if so. The way this release was handled is the worst of any prior release to date. I stopped playing the game around 595. I like to only spend 1-2 hours a day playing a game. Sure a lot of people won't be able to even do that. So -blam!- everyone that bought this game and the annual pass for another few months cause ya know. Bungie thought process. How the -blam!- did this make it to launch? This isn't a "dlc" the content is locked. There hasn't even been a god damn story mission or anything to do yet. Blows my mind.

                • Are the people who design the game content happy that less than 10% of players are able to fully experience end game activities like raids, whisper quest, and dungeon/ascendant challenges? I completed every raid on D1, but wasn't good enough for prestige but that's okay because I was at least able to play the content to the end. I even soloed the No Time to Explain quest. Putting out content with time gates and absurd light level requirements should be available, but give it to the prestige level players who want and deserve the high end loot. I am very disappointed that I keep paying for content I will not get to fully experience because you make the game so difficult. Your next season pass will be the first time I don't pre-order, if I do at all. I am going to wait and watch the feedback before I subsidize more content for high end players.

                • Cozmo, I am sorry to write you to let you know I am leaving the game for good. I have played D1 from day 1 and when the switch to next gen came I stepped up, because of D2. I have been a functioning PTSD surviver for over 25 years. When I was feeling low or stressed I would use D1/D2 for a outlet and to recharge my spirit. So it pains me to leave. I understand keeping certain exotic special, by limited time to achieve or grinding for them. I understand the mechanics of "Look what you could get next" It's basically a dopamine hit and that's how you keep players engaged and coming back. It is a fine line that Bungie has played well not just with D1/D2, but also Halo. The old bait and switch, or hype train produces a relationship between developers, players and their wallets on both sides. Where you went wrong is when you sell a idea, take money for it, and then ask your clients to achieve more personally in order to access the idea. You have now basically taken money for a product and then failed to deliver on said product. Also you have forced the client to make a choice, grind and achieve the goal to prove worthy of playing said content or request a refund and leave . It's like being lied to by a close friend and expecting them to be OK with it over and over. The real issue is Bungie use to be good even if the content sucked. Remember when people would dress up and come to your front door. Oh or that time when you got the community to donate to the Tibetan Relief. This is what drew me to Destiny. A great community that players rezd each other, interacted through emotes, and combined efforts to help the outside world. The new player base wasn't exposed to this as D1 was. Players only rezd in strikes because it matters. Gambit, public events, and everywhere else very rarely. The moral fabric has changed, because Bungie has lost their focus. Any developer can create a game, but Bungie had created a relationship and a community that valued each other. I'm not sure where we got off the track, maybe the beginning of D2 or later when the focus was getting new players and their wallets, but I guess that's progress. I wish the Team better luck with the future and maybe the next game. You all have passion and talent, start focusing it on a wonderful idea that you started with. "With great power comes great responsiblity" Take Care

                  • Bungie you’ve destroyed the idea of an enjoyable grind. With the power cap being raised for new activities but no changes to how we grind power levels. We have been forced to perform the most repetitive grind tactics ever. I’m am so done collecting a glowing purple weed in a distant reef city. This is almost worse than killing chickens on Tatooine in SWG to level. No I take that back. The fact that I have almost 2000 baryon bough that I literally use for nothing is far worse. PLEASE Get rid of that daily bounty. When developers create a new activity they SHOULD add new experience to keep players interested. The black armory doesn’t give a new experience. It sends the dedicated player back to the same grind which only turns some dedicated players into causal players who eventually stop playing. The cycle of the dreaming city is interesting for lore. The changes made to the queens cut scene during week three allows for a reason to grind for oracle offerings. All this adds content that keeps players going. Bungie you don’t know how to sling your game. This armory activity should have had a quick intro that leads to powerful gear that gets us bumped and pumped to bang out more forge activities. Then we go back and forth to initial grind activities while also adding forge activities to support the grinding. You cut us off right at the start.

                  • Bungie, I’m just gonna come out and say it. I hate this dlc. You conned me out $30 for this pass, and now I have to grind at least two weeks just to be able to play any of the content. I just it’s kinda my own fault to trust that you were capable of getting something right twice in a row. I should have just looked at your history to know better than that. But here’s the facts. I have spent 8 hrs out of the week that I barely get to play in order to simply grind from 600-610. I have now spent 3 hrs straight grinding the volundr forge. And guess what? I still haven’t come close to beating it once. So, why did I pay you $30 for some trash that I can’t even play unless I spend more time grinding the content I’ve already been playing for a year+? Tell you what, fix this crap so your player base can play the game they have played for, and NOT just what the youtubers are able to complete because they have the time to play 8+ hrs a day, or, I will expect a full refund.

I posted something similar to someone else's comment but felt this needed its own top level reply: This issue has, once again, exposed the problem with Destiny's "end game". It's not really about loot, it's centered around ticking off boxes and slowly pushing our power level number up. The issue with that is, outside of end game, power level is largely meaningless due to the aggressive AI scaling. And in most PVP modes, it has no meaning at all. There's more to crafting a good end game than chasing numbers. I look back at what kept me invested in World of Warcraft and it was equal parts challenge and loot chasing. I got hooked in when I first started seeing people in their first tier dungeon sets; Seeing mages in their magister's set, warriors in their valor sets... and realizing those sets had meaning as they had set bonuses which made progressing into further content slightly easier while boosting play style and character builds. That was all it took to get sucked into end game, where I played mid game and end game for over a decade. A main reason I don't give a damn about the raids in Destiny 2 is because the gear isn't worth caring about (much). It's not like the obsession I had over getting 6/8 or 8/8 Netherwind or Frostfire back in vanilla WoW where getting those pieces added tangible progress to my character. D2's raid gear is just a cosmetic variant of everything else in the game. Thus giving zero motivation to care. People are going to yell "But Destiny's not an MMO" and I'm not saying it is or should be. But there's no reason why they can't follow a similar trend. Imagine a Destiny where there's heroic and nightfall strike sets with random set bonuses for each of the three elemental specs. Imagine if the raids had tiered gear where the set bonuses helped prepare players for the harder modes of the raids. This would be a reason to be invested and keep playing rather than just chasing a +1 or +3 increase to a seemingly arbitrary power level number. Destiny needs a better end game design than just chase the powerful engram. You guys are published by Activision-BLIZZARD, ffs.. Pick up a phone and chat with Blizzard's WoW and Diablo loot and encounter design teams on making compelling loot chases in end game.

                          • Still shit grind grind grind no good drops etc. just grind and hope you get good drops week after week for completing powerful engram bounties. Raids use to be huge in D1 not so much anymore it appears because people have to grind grind grind just in hopes of drops that will get them leveled to start playing actual content payed for. Remember not all players are unemployed children and play casually. This you tube society is getting out of hand ..

                          • So you guys keep stressing the fact that the forges are end game activities. Why then do I not receive high level rewards? I dont understand why only the weapon quests do. I just forged another auto rifle and it was 595 I am 615 beating a 625 activity. So it's not an end game activity then I don't get what's going on
