You forgot the other defence. They explained there would be new gear to chase, check, a focus on endgame, check, a clear rollout of the content, check. Shockingly you seemed to have got what you paid for. I hope you weren’t one of the people I told to stop preordering? One of the many people who told me not to tell them how to spend their money.

  • Honest question. If a tremendous portion of your customer base is, at best, underwhelmed and at worst quite angry did you do a good job confusin managing expectations? If tons of paying customers are angry did you sell them a good product? If those customers are talking about being exhausted and wanting to stop playing is that good for your company?

  • Honest answer People are angry because they chose to ignore what was being clearly outlined. I have been a harsh critic of bungie since the launch of D2, but on this particular issue I can’t see what bungie did wrong. They said all along there would be no new campaign, no new areas, no new strikes. There would be new gear to chase, new endgame activities and they also outlined a clear path forward with the forge. For example, everyone new the last word was time gated, yet here they are complaining about it. Everyone new about the focus on endgame activities (heavily talked about on all popular YT channels) yet here they are complaining about it. Most people that I’ve come across are complaining about not being able to achieve endgame level on the first day, is that not unreasonable? In fact if people struggled to understand what bungie was selling, there were an abundance of popular internet outlets, content creators and such talking in great detail about what was coming. Now I would guess that 99% of the people here are internet savvy young people. I’m having a similar discussion with someone who believes bungie has pulled a “bait and switch” on the community, I have asked for evidence, he as not replied. Most of these people are young ignorant players who struggle to manage their own hormones, so what exactly could bungie have done more of to manage their expectations?
