This is the Worst DLC launch yet....
The horde mode is the only thing new (other than the raid which isn’t out yet) and you can’t even complete it, and move to the next quest step, until you’re 615? So this first week we are just doing the same stuff we have been doing for months already! Theres nothing new!! Can’t even get anything from the new vendor.
update: They made it easier. Just took a while and lots of tries with terrible random teammates. But finally completed it at 607. I’m now 615 with two Hammerheads and the auto rifle. Now doing the quest where you have to do patrols, adventures, strikes, etc, with Forge weapon equipped for powerful engram. It’s actually not as bad once you finally beat the forge the first time. It also really helps having good teammates who know what they’re doing.
Update: now 622 and at the second forge. I like it a lot better than I did the first day.

Then when we complain about this, streamers get defensive and make up lies about their married friend of a friend who works a 24 hour job, has 30 kids and 50 grandkids and is already at 600. There was also no way for Bungie to keep any casual gamer engaged after a month to continue the same content grind, and this lack of engagement is what led to what we have now, which is that no one can play the Forge yet lmao. The content itself isnt the problem because we all expected this small burst of content, its the lack of engagement and incentive for normal players. They never even added simple events like Mayhem since Forsaken release, they never kept the content engaging bcs even the Halloween event was more of a grind than a fun little update. The murder mystery being timegated was also so weird and unnecessary, as a casual I both forgot and lost interest in doing it. So overall, I dont think its the content itself, its that bungie just dont know how to make the content they have engaging and interesting without feeling like you completed a week's worth of powerful reward challenges to only go from 570 to 571. If theyre going to keep the engram grind this awful, at least find ways to make old content engaging, since we're being forced to do it to even participate. RANNNNT

This is the worst garbage Bungie has ever put out. Forsaken wasn’t the result of Bungie all of a sudden listening. It was the real Destiny 2 they intended to launch: new enemies, subclasses and weapons that were’t reskins of Destiny 1. Destiny 2 Year 1 was the result of rush contractual obligations. Warmind, Osiris and Black Armory garbage are what everyone should expect going forward.

They should have gave you a 615 machine gun after the quest, but before the forge. At least it would have been something to say, thanks for buying and playing, you did this quest, now heres something to help in the forge!

1 ReplyBungie got me back with the forsaken afterni had left for almost a uear due to destiny 2 sucking so hard. Now they are losing me again. Same old mistakes. Making major changes to the game without telling anyone and putting the same old unnecessary grind to extend game play. I am alreafy telling everyone inolay with not to purchase the annual pass and i am leaving again. Way to go Bungie. My god guys. Get your act together. Arent there any true gamers on your staff that could warn that this would happen. Wow.

4 Replieshave to agree. this new content is basically inaccessible from day one! no mention was made that we had to grind on 'old' jobs/tasks/bounties till hit 615+ to be able to enjoy the new Forge content. I would like to point out the video on this very site with 2 of the Dev team talking about how exciting the new Forge content was going to be. one said he was at 600 and the other said he was at 580 something - neither said something like "oh man! we need to get to 615+ so we are not mowed down in the forge strike/event!" - the video clearly gave the impression that we were going to be able to just move right into the new content. NOT! huge disappointment ...

D2 has made some serious improvements since release but and it's a big BUT, Black Armory is a significant step backwards. I will not seek a refund for it as the quests may be fun, challenging and great in the end. The problem as others have noted is that we bought a new car but the dealer kept the keys. I've been playing MMOGs for more than 20 years and each expansion or DLC that has lots of endgame content which is a must also had some fresh lands for those who could not immediately access the higher end content. Create a new landing zone or a massive lost sector with content that allows Guardians to lvl up to access the Forge quests. First impressions are often lasting impressions and this was a bad one.

11 RepliesLooks like all the fanboys whining and crying over the new content got their wish. Bungie dropped the PL lower to appease the infant child that is this community. I look forward to the threads in a few weeks complaining about how easy forge is. In the mean time, I will just keep playing other games.

They should have made it clear what kind of level you needed to be because, if you're nowhere near 600, there's no real point buying the DLC right now. You could hold off until you actually hit the level.
