This is the Worst DLC launch yet....
The horde mode is the only thing new (other than the raid which isn’t out yet) and you can’t even complete it, and move to the next quest step, until you’re 615? So this first week we are just doing the same stuff we have been doing for months already! Theres nothing new!! Can’t even get anything from the new vendor.
update: They made it easier. Just took a while and lots of tries with terrible random teammates. But finally completed it at 607. I’m now 615 with two Hammerheads and the auto rifle. Now doing the quest where you have to do patrols, adventures, strikes, etc, with Forge weapon equipped for powerful engram. It’s actually not as bad once you finally beat the forge the first time. It also really helps having good teammates who know what they’re doing.
Update: now 622 and at the second forge. I like it a lot better than I did the first day.

I think the match making in forge is ok but it stops us 'doing an escalation' where we could spawn more than 3 people in. Bungie said that their idea for horde was 3 man well co ordinated team, now we're forced to fit that.

3 RepliesThis could have been mitigated if they had increased the light level during the week prior. I still would have disagreed with increasing the cap, but the blow would have been softened.

Just expect the worst from Bungie nowadays, that way you won’t be let down.

I think they should have let us grind power the week before or even just have a normal mode for the first quest, so it would be easier to do.

4 RepliesI understand that it's annoying to have to continue doing the old stuff to be able to attempt the new stuff. It makes sense and I feel the same for the most part, but I'm not super angry that there aren't new ways to level up YET because bungie was very open with what was going to be included. It's not like the past were they told us something and it didn't work or wasn't there, they didn't technically burn us because once again for what feels like the first time they told us what to expect. I think If they allowed us to level up to at least 610 last week since it was the first week of the season that probably would have worked out a bit better.

1 Reply615 is just slightly over a third of the new cap for a DLC that has a 3 month prime run. Many players were not able to complete this week's Forge on the first day and people are calling foul. The other side of the coin on this is if the bulk of players were beating the Forge on the first day people would be aggravated that it was far too easy. That's just how it goes. Chances are pretty good that most of us can run the regular grind for "powerful" gear and raise up to or near that point through the week and knock it out before next Tuesday or get there before it cycles back around. My guess is that the real enemy won't be the Cabal, Taken, Fallen, Hive, Scorn or even the Darkness but rather our ancient enemy the RNG proving itself to be our greatest nemesis as we grind forges for that one weapon we have our eyes on.

1 ReplyMy issue is this is the new model which means no new strikes no new destinations no new way to continue forward. Just lame additions to end game till next September when we get more story then 3 crap "anual" pass activities

What people are not understanding is that this is the first piece of paid content that hasn’t given us a rare gear soft cap increase. This reason alone is what makes Black Armory so un accessable. Maybe if the soft cap on loot was Blues 620 max, milsestones 630, last wish 640, and finally the new raid to the max of 650 then this content release would be better received. As well as be in line with the other endgame content releases In the past.

Honestly this dlc wouldn't have been such a slap in the face if the power level handicap had been increased at the start of the season last week. Would've given players a chance to actually get levelled for new content.

3 RepliesWhen they said they was not going to waste time on story based quests with cinematics but instead focus more on content I assumed well we would get more content that what the other dlc's gave us.... In stead we got much much much less... I was expecting a new patrol zone with adventures, new activity, raid and lots of new loot you know the bare minium! what we got was a handful of new guns and 1 armour set and a bunch of reskins... and another horde mode... Also in the viddoc they said the community loved the timegated content that the dreaming city braught with its weekly rotation so they are giving us more of that!! Who the F-ing likes timegated content!!!

When there’s absolutely nothing NEW to do the day new content drops that’s inexcusable plus still not being able to get descent drops since Forsaken launched. I’ve been 600 on all 3 characters for weeks. I did the Last Wish raid from start to finish today and didn’t even go up to 601 until I did a few milestones afterwards. This is -blam!-ing ridiculous. The only “new” content is Volundr Forge in the EDZ and you’ve made that nearly impossible. This isn’t new DLC, it’s false advertising. FOH -

1 ReplyI honestly wouldn’t be so mad if leveling in the game wasn’t so trash and ridiculously slow. It’s rare to actually be rewarded for grinding in this game. Maybe some dupe protection and make it so harder/More challenging milestones give you better level increases. Raid gear was only dropping 2-3 levels higher which is dumb considering the first piece of content in this dlc wants you to be at least 610

My "proof" that the dlc is bad - non e of my friends are playing right now. Normally when a new dlc drops I have a lot of friends playing at all hours of the day for at least the first week.

3 RepliesI thought Bungie had learned since Forsaken. It seemed they had finally gotten their shit straight. Guess not. Who thought this artificially induced grind was a good idea!? They need to be demoted. You can't even enjoy it without first grinding the old. Like others have already stated, the first forge should have been a lower level so we could at least finish it this week. But that brings me to another point. Having to play a mini game to forge a weapon is pretty stupid and doesn't really make sense.

If you look at their event calendar it doesn't say any about new stories or missions. So idk why people expected this.
