HDR too dark
Just purchased xbox x and 4k HDR TV. Destiny 2 looks way too dark. Unable to adjust color/brightness/contrast to acceptable levels. Either glaringly bright or pitch black in low light level areas. Game is unplayable with HDR enabled.

Same with me. Started Playing on PC because the HDR on my TV makes the game way to dark and I cannot seem to fix it :(

What ever happened to this issue? This thread is over a year old and not finding anything through google. I prefer to play on PC over console but regardless of HDR being on or off, my game is too dark. Makes navigating lost sectors and and other dark areas near impossible. I've tried everything there is to try in-game. Turning up brightness only makes things look washed out. This game is absolutely stunning but this is really hurting the whole experience. When I get on my PS4 and play, I see things/textures that wouldn't show up on my PC. Really hoping someone can help. I am on Windows 7 running on an EVGA GTX 1660

Same. I took a break from destiny for a while, and it looked fine with HDR before. I came back today and after downloading all the patches the game is extremely dark with HDR enabled and almost unplayable. A workaround seems to be to disable HDR, set the SDR brightness up a couple notches, then enable SDR, relaunch the game and tinker with HDR settings. Still can't make it perfect, but it's a little better. Just at least allow brightness and HDR options to be changed when HDR is enabled....

Samsung QLED user here. Same problem. Black Crush Hell. Not playing or buying Annual pass till this is fixed.

I've been posting about HDR issues on this forum since dec 2017. They just say "it's being investigated" which is complete BS at this point. The "known issue" they had listed was supposedly "fixed" according to their last patch notes, and it wasn't yet again. This is the 3rd time they have supposedly fixed it according to patch notes. It's blatant programming incompetence at this point and it's not going to be fixed because they obviously have no -blam!-ing clue how to do so.

I have the same issue with my PS4 Pro. Dark is too dark and bright is too bright. I have disabled hdr again.

1 ReplyBungie have it listed above as a known issue that they are addressing. I to have the same same problem on my xbox1x and my Samsung tv. It was fine before the update but now it’s just really dark making the ascendent challenges and dark ares unplayable.

I have the same issue using a high end pc. Got a 4K tv and the game is unplayable.
