Hunter melee abilities need to do more damage

Titans have 3 OHK melee abilities, Warlocks have a mini super (the word is even in the name) for a grenade ability, and Hunters have... a melee ability that barely takes out another Guardian's shield on a precision hit. These shouldn't be too much to ask, I hope. [u][b]Suggestion: Make the melee abilities for Explosive Knife and Knife Trick (all 3 knives, not individual knives) OHK on headshot. (For Knife Trick, all 3 knives would have to be precision hits on the target for it to be OHK.)[/b][/u] Everyone who will bitch about this: "That'll only make Hunters even more OP. They're knives reach farther than any other melee in the game." Considering how much more skill it takes to actually land a hit with a throwing knife from further away, this really shouldn't pose much of a disadvantage for anyone unless you're incapable of moving a few feet. [u][b]Suggestion: Make the Arcstrider uppercut OHK.[/b][/u] Everyone who will bitch about this: "But that melee ability has ridiculous range." This melee ability requires activation by sliding, just the same as Titans need to sprint to use their second melee ability (shoulder charge). Besides, this is just as easy to dodge as shoulder charge if you see it coming, and warlock mini supernovas are almost impossible to avoid at close range. Edit: Accidentally called Warlock mini supernovas melees. Edit 2: Clarifying what I was saying about Knife Trick (the 3 knives melee).

  • I agree that the sliding staff of hunter should be OHK, but only if the staff hit, not the shockwave, if you hit both staff and shockwave, then OHK, only shockwave should do good damage, but not OHK in my opnion

      I feel for my hunter brethren, I forgot how slow and defenseless they were until I started trying to level up again for black armory. It's like a different game. On my titan I can skate around at a million miles per hour, shoulder charging, and shotgunning people. On my warlock I can surf around, blowing people up with nades, and shotgunning people. On my hunter I can throw a knife that does maybe 50 damage, I can blade barrage like one dude (sometimes zero if I get stuck on a wall,) and then maybe go "invisible" sometimes. My crucible kill tracker emblem lists 17,000 hunters killed and then 13,000 for both titans and warlocks killed, lol. I honestly think the reason they're the most played class is because they have a cape...

You already got a Spec Blades buff and have three good supers. An arc staff that’s ten times more powerful than a Warlocks storm trance. A knife super that’s more powerful than nova bomb or the Titans one use super. God forbid if it’s a Titan or a Warlock that needs a buff then the Huntards get their panties in a bunch.

      • Agree with the thought, but these buffs are too much Damage buff suggestions: Gunslinger explosive knife : 110 on non crits, 135 on crit Precision knife: 120 on non crits, 160 on crit Burning knives: 30 per knive on on crits, 50 on crit. Burns 5 damage with 5 ticks Arcstrider melee: Combination blow: 160 Tempest strike: 220 Nightstalker (smoke) Snare Bomb: 30 on detonation, smoke does 5 damage with 5 sticks. Direct hit grants an additional 30 damage. Vanish in Smoke: same as above. Corrosive Smoke: 100 on detonation, smoke does 5 damage with 5 ticks. Direct hit grants an additional 30 damage (maximum damage: 155) Only tempest strike should OHK. The 3 new burning knives COULD if they all land on the head and thr burning does max damage.

        • Hunters have the fastest melee in the game where as a warlock out of all three of the subclasses has the slowest and now the smallest range unless you use novawarp the gauntlets and the choas reach other than that its the weakest and slowest and you complain about hunters

          There's a bigger issue here. Melee abilities aren't much different from regular melees. Mostly because they are just buffs to your melee button and that's it. I see forsaken trying to remedy this, but the others are still present. Abilities should offer something different and defined. Too often the ability is simply tied to the act of meleeing with varying conditions. Either you hit or get a kill. It's near brainless and rarely do you have to think. Though in the case of voidwalker it actively asks you to not melee to get the full effect. Titan shoulder charge and hunter throwing melees require thought and some skill. Though even then there are issues in the game not understanding whether a player wants a regular melee or the throw-able one, and melees homing in for easy thoughtless use even for shoulder charges. If they can design around this they would be much better and easier to justify one hits or high output with them. Same applies for grenades, supers, and the sandbox in general. However there is a pervasive issue in Destiny where it doesn't want to be skillful because it doesn't want to alienate the casual crowd. Especially the ones Bungie have already grabbed up. I agree the game has some issues, but it's a bit more complicated than buff this.

        • If hunter melee end up doing more dmg than so do warlock and Titan melee. If they increase hunter melee dmg by let's say 10% then they also need to increase warlock and Titan melee by 10%.

          • Firstly, if you really want Hunters to have a OHK ability, it has to be frustrating to use and ridiculously inconsistent; just like Handheld Supernova. Secondly, Hunters do NOT need a OHK ability. They're already the best class in the game for a reason; their mobility. No other class can match the vertical and horizontal manipulation Hunters have. Their jump allows them to instantaneously change direction and height. No other class can do that. Their dodge (especially the one that refreshes melee) allows them to disengage and avoid damage unlike any other class. Hunters, if you abuse their mobility, are completely unmatched by Titans and Warlocks. There's a reason the majority of the Top 1% of players are Hunters.

            • Possibly the knife trick. But hunter shotgun apes with stompees will absolutely destroy with an additional OHK (in regards to the arcstrider uppercut).

                Do you not realize how complicated it is to get all three knives in Knife Trick as precision hits? Just let it be a ohk from the burn if all Knives land on the target in general. Or just Make Tripmine a OHK grenade.

              • I say give each melee ability potential ohk the capability to be charged and release as a ohk melee. Knives will be thrown with more force, less arc, given more control over direction and farther damage fall off. When charged, smoke bomb splits mid air and creates another smoke bomb within the vicinity covering more area. Arc uppercut can be charged and held for 3 secs otherwise released prematurely.

              • Ok so here are my suggestions Hunter uppercut only OHK on the first person damaged. Precision knife on bottom tree does 165 dmg Explosive knife does 135 dmg and give it a slight increase (SLIGHT) in blast radius Shattering strike should do a OHK considering the level of setup needed to activate it. Somewhat like D1 Backstab Combination blow on top tree arcstrider should do at least 150 dmg instead of 135.

                • If your looking for a class centered on OHK abilities well... you’re a bit mixed up. Hunters have the best jump. No questions asked. They also have the best class ability. Seeing as dodge had a near instant activation speed. I mostly played hunter for a good 3 years. I know what I’m talking about. You’re trading a OHK ability for the best movement in the game.

                    • You don't play Titian or Warlock. Your opinion is pointless to me. I think you get farmed on a hunter. Hunters jump make them the best for shotgunning in the game. Hunter movement is everything.

                          • Titans having oneshot shoulder charge is completely balanced with huge aim assist on it, but when Hunters dare to even ask for precision throwing knife to oneshot, it's OP AF.
