Do something about AFK Gambit players
Okay it is bad enough i have to grind out 40 games....but 50% of these games now have a stupid ass afk player that is jumping up and down the whole match. This type of behavior needs to be punished because if i leave the game i surely get punished.

Done my 40+ games and seen only 1 AFKer. Bungie should have thought about it tbh, make it deposit 2500 motes or slay prime evils.

Dropped that shitty game weeks ago. But this gameplay style in Gambit (AFK) sounds pretty equal to the quality of the grind. So I am thinking about return for 40 afk matches.

2 RepliesIt should have been: 50 large blockers. 100 medium blockers. 200 Small blockers. 50 Primeval Kills. Maybe something to do with using an auto rifle, but the quest only encourages AFK players to complete matchs faster.

Ran into this same problem in my first game tonight. 2 of them just sat at the bank and did nothing. BUT I actually appreciated it in the end as I got over 70 AR kills and bank over 110 motes (which helped with my Maleficence quest as I keep ignoring it) plus we won the 2nd and 3rd rounds so it was GLORIOUS for me.

8 RepliesYou don't need to win the matches... Just let the other team destroy you quickly then you will get the pinnacle weapon quicker.

3 RepliesMostly , It's part of the repercussions of adding penalties for leaving coupled with a really bad matchmaking algorithm. Then, you also get those players that just don't want to play, but for some reason still want the gear. I think those types will always be around in some form, unfortunately.

You also get the ones who just stand at the portal, don’t play, only jump in invasions, can’t kill anything and just ruin the game. I’m getting my 40 games and not touching this shitty game mode until I have to again. Shame though, as this game mode looked great before it actually came out.

1 ReplySo don’t leave. Just sit back and goof around have fun with guns u wouldn’t normally use. Yea u will probably lose but it’s just a game. But yea AFK players need to go.

Never should have added penalties for leaving the match then... The only thing that is left is to be afk or play as shitty as possible so the game ends faster.

Activision wont pay for the extra bandwidth to run advanced analysis on individual player performance, activity or overall score in any activity. They could do this to sort out lazy players and make sure they only match with other afkers and low effort players. That way everyone gets better matchmaking. But they wont cause sales are still too good to give a shit.

This is what happens when Bungie make it about just playing games. Same happened in comp/rumble last season with people doing the Redrix. Make it 15-20 wins rather than just exist for 40 games and this goes away.

24 RepliesIt’s not 40 wins and it doesn’t require any guardian kills as well. Long as you’re on from start to finish you still get credit. Plus wins don’t count for more anyway.
