Ikelos Shotgun/Trench barrel nerf needs to be reversed.
Ikelos shotgun/Trench barrel perk was nerfed so that only the first 3 shots have extra damage. This is stupid. I personally grinded 122 escalation clears for this weapon. I'm seriously disappointed in bungie for this, they've told us they were done nerfing things and here they go nerfing a perfectly good weapon. Idk if its because they don't want their bosses getting melted or if they want us to use other weapons. I don't understand why they can't make other good perks. Some weapons are meant to be kings of their classes and we enjoy melting bosses. I wonder what's next if they'll nerf Luna"s howl or Not forgotten both weapons people grinded many hours for. If you agree we've gotta put our foot down or they could start nerfing all the weapons we've worked so hard to get. I know it's not a serious nerf and the weapon is still good but I just don't see the point of it, I just don't want all the hours I put into getting this weapon to be a waste of my time and if I'm gonna be playing this game to waste my time on getting weapons that are gonna be nerfed then I might as well not play it anymore.

2 RepliesI remember coming up with this idea as a nerf suggestion on the forums a few weeks ago, I don't know if they got it from me, but I'm glad they did it anyway. That's the perfect nerf for the ep shotgun, it cuts a little bit of it's dps against bosses but doesn't affect majors as they should be dead in three to four shots.

7 RepliesWho cares how long you spent? Just because you like it doesn't mean it's best for the game. EXOTICS should be the kings of their classes, not some random shotgun being literally 50% better (or more) than literally every other option (except Merciless)

3 RepliesIt doesn't "need" to be reversed and you're not going to leave either. Ikelos SG will be obsolete anyway when better shotguns have this perk among other perks. You grinded for early access to the weapon with "special" perks. but if the cycle continues, then every weapon that is "unique" will eventually become a common perk. You should understand this by now.

45 RepliesEveryone complaining about the nerf... I have a question for you. Have you [b][u]actually[/u][/b] used it post nerf? Cos the only real difference is that you have to punch, hold the trigger for 1 second (possibly less), punch, hold the trigger for 1 second (possibly less), rinse and repeat. Did the Last Wish raid 3 times last night, no problem. Essentially it's still the strongest energy weapon in the game, and Bungo's "nerf" pretty much did nothing. So quit whinging and just go use the damn gun already.

4 RepliesTbh the only reason I can think of why they would nerf it is because before the nerf it out dps practically all the heavy weapons in game (whisper doesnt count in this because its not always Consistant and requires a good aim or a big target) but the one thing i saw everytime i played gambit was primary, ep shotgun, and an exotic heavy same goes for raids and strikes. Its the only constant factor in it all. Granted i understand your frustration about this but i actually think its for its own good. A secondary should never out dps every heavy in game with ease. Also do take in mind that escalation protocol is extremly easy now and practically anyone can get it. There is still plenty and i mean plenty of weapons out there that are actually alot of fun to use. Take riskrunner for example, amazingly fun gun to use but it takes my energy spot, which in gambit automattically puts me at a huge disadvantage. Some things cant be op forever either unless its literally the hardest thing to acquire in game. As for that shotgun it also played on the use it or lose it type of mentality which essentially boils down to use it and win or dont and lose and thats never a good thing in a game such as destiny. People should feel free to use guns they like without having to worry about whats good and what's not. Plain and simple. I can also point out that if they did buff all energy weapons to ep shortie before nerf then dear lord that would make things extremly unbalanced when a sidearm or a hand cannon would out dps a heavy. In peoples eyes its perceived as a pinnicle award. Which begs the question on why? Its definatly not hard to get anyone can grind escalation for it. I went probably 80+ clears of ep before than but I'm not mad about the nerf what so ever because i also already use other weapons that i actually enjoy and dont have to stress about if I'm losing on damage or not.

11 RepliesI agree it's complete b*******. For people who haven't got certain things done such as Petra's run are now at a serious disadvantage. Thats a ridiculous nerf. Woth 3 shots and how fast it shoots youll be up there throwing punches every second. The gun is ass compared to what it was. Congrats everyone who got all there time trials, challenge grinding and seals done before this because the rest of us just got shit on so hard its ridiculous. Whats with the blind side? Ikelos was one of the only good legendary guns for dps especially in the energy slot. I dont understamd what complaint people had and how there were enough people complaining about this to get it merfed out of nowhere. It doesnt affect pvp and anyone can get it plus it only holds 21 shots. I think the rivensbane title shpuld now have a sub lable that says "post ikelos nerf."

We're all ignoring the real problem here. We have no good unique weapon perks in endgame loot. Dreaming city is supposed to be an endgame destination so why isn't the loot powerful? The raid loot isnt that powerful they have no unique perks. Ikelos may have been OP and the only weapon to use but that's because it's the only endgame weapon that was unique and had unique perks.

Honestly...I'm glad. I'm so sick of the same weapons being the 'must use' options for pretty much any content. I mean EP SG wasn't even released this season and it still beat the crap out of all the current weapons. Also, even with this 'nerf', it will still be out-dpsing all the weapons of its type, so it's not as big a drama as you've made it out to be.

I think peoples frustration with this is fair, but the ep shotty was a problem in that it was a special weapon that was equal to/better than the exotic heavies of the day, the only other time that happened in destiny history was the black hammer from dark below, which was so good that is was nerfed/made an exotic and made a heavy so i dont think people should be too suprised by this.
