WHY haven't any of you made a post regarding rewarding inactivity?
Yes you heard right.
There is such a mechanic that over compensates loot, specifically exotics to players who do not log in for a certain amount of time.
EDIT: A lot of players are asking how we can measure this, I guess my only answer to that is to hope that dmg or Cosmo weigh in with info.
Either that or you test it out yourself.

2 RepliesDemonstrate a single shred of actual proof that this happens in D2 and I'll take this post seriously.
-
24 RepliesMost of the exotic complaints I have seen are from the casuals who dont do any of their milestones. And are probably on 1 character. While I play on my 3 characters, do all my milestones. Im only missing 2 exotics until i finish the collection.
-
I wish they'd be able to detect that Bungie has stopped caring about Destiny and just play or stop complaining.

What if it’s not given to those that leave but every player and it’s a stacking increased chance to get one the longer you don’t. And it just seems like players who return after an absence have a higher chance because it keeps stacking when they’re gone yet people who play in game have gotten one or two in the meantime and had theirs reset

2 RepliesI`ve been playing 4-8 hours a day almost every day since Forsaken launched and I`ve gotten all the Exotic Warlock armour, most Exotic Titan armour and a few Hunter armours (I don`t use my Hunter much), as well as all but 2 RNG Exotics (Queenbreaker and Two-Tailed Fox) and quite a few duplicate Exotics. I am fairly certain many others can tell similar stories. The same goes the other way around as well. There are many people that took a very long break from D2, some not playing since vanilla, and even then, after months of being away and weeks of playing again, they still haven`t gotten an Exotic to drop. If there were a mechanic like that then people would be all over it, and I wouldn`t have nearly as many Exotics as I do. With the game on PC hackers and data-miners can search through everything, and they would have uncovered something by now. While some of Bungie`s past actions, including XP-throttling have been questionable, I am convinced that no "Idle Rewards" exist in D2. This kind of misinformation needs to stop. It`s immature and whatever attention people get from it is fleeting at best. Nothing is gained from it by anyone.

There are many things the playerbase misses, like stealth nerfs to blade barrage tracking, jump mechanic changes in jumping puzzles that make the characters jump differently than everywhere else, Thunderlord nerfing, increased lag in certain parts of the game, enemy spawns on Mars that are so slow they tank the timer, etc.

1 ReplyEdited by reenry: 11/27/2018 1:33:16 PMAh yes, you think Bungie are Lizard Men in suits as well?
-
2 RepliesI wonder if this will work for sleeper nodes and the braytech auto rifle. I've lost my soul to farming resonate stems in search for this blessed weapon....
-
2 RepliesIsn't this called the prime engrams buff? If you don't play for days it stacks
-
1 ReplyWe've known they are throttling exp since launch. Did you also know they are throttling your weapon/armor drops, and materials, and cores, and tokens, and exotics?
-
1 ReplyHaven’t played for almost 2 weeks, I’ll let you know if I get an exotic
-
You will get nothing from bungie on this.

Edited by Shadow: 11/27/2018 11:27:18 AMDefinately a thing. From my experience, it's around 4-5 days of no playtime. I swear, I've had an exotic drop within 1 hour of playtime, each time I've come back. It's all part of the gambling/addiction framework Destiny is built around. It's designed to excite you and want to play more after being rewarded.
-
I mean. Since Forsaken came out i've been playing for 30min-8h almost daily and i have 15 forsaken exotics. It's just RNG and i have had very good luck for once in my life.
-
I played since forsaken launch 2-3 hours daily or maybe at least 1 hours. I had few days break but got no exotic from this season. I have quit now and will probably log in again after 4th. I'll update how it goes and if I get any exotic.
-
Edited by SlingshotNerd: 11/27/2018 7:12:49 AMThat’s the same exact reason why no one notices how Bungie is secretly nerfing and buffing everything behind our backs, they did it in destiny 1 and now they’re doing it again
-
This is highly unlikely and all comes down to RNG. Once, I got 3 exotics in one day but I haven’t seen one in over 2 weeks now. It’s all the luck of the draw.
-
Funny thing is I have to agree. My brother who has not played much at all and literally purchased the dlc about a week ago already has all the exotics for his warlock that I have and I just got the one of those this week and they have been very spread out. Another friend of mine stops playing for a week or so from time to time and seems to get an exotic every single time he plays. I literally had another that plays maybe once a week say he had no idea why we complain about exotic drops cause they seem like D1 to him and he likes that. He also gets an exotic on that one time a week that he plays. Yet I and some other friends play pretty much nightly and we are still searching for exotics.
-
I'm inclined to believe this. I usually have been playing Destiny, milestones and all across all three characters weekly. Easily 30-40hrs a week every day since the dlc came out and I never got any exotics to drop whatsoever. Took a 3 week break to play other stuff and only played Destony maybe an hour a day. Was playing stuff I had on backlog (Crash Trilogy, Spyro, Yakuza, etc...) Came back to Destiny last week and I literally got 7 exotics in less than 4 days. - GameBreakerBow - Gwinsin - Phoenix Protocol - Geomags - Sunshot - Wardclif - Sixth Coyote Was practically exotic dry all DLC and then a break ... Boom. Shit dropping like wildfire.
-
Assuming there was such a mechanic, it would only affect those that don't play as much. Meaning those who don't intrinsically know when their games being messed with to begin with
-
Maybe I used to think that, but i log on all the time and i get stuff.
-
Ive also noticed that if you win a 3v4 or 2v4 competitive match like crucible or Gambit, theres an extremely high chance you get an exotic. Thats how I got Cerberus+1 and Trinity Ghoul.
-
so...what your saying is... the best way to play the game? Is not play the game? stellar idea there bungo.
-
If only this was true. I haven't put too much time into Forsaken. I have only gotten one Forsaken exotic outside exotic quests. Heart of Inmost Light.
-
9 RepliesNot sure if it’s just massive coincidence but I’ve noticed this a few times. I’ve also noticed that if you mention wanting or struggling to get an exotic on this forum, it drops pretty soon afterwards.. Ahem, cough, shards of Galanor..

Anecdotal argument is anecdotal.
