Are mouse and keyboard users on console considered cheaters and should they be banned?
The following is a edit
Bungie regards some behavior to be in breach of the license agreement that governs Destiny, and therefore potentially subject to access restrictions or bans. This behavior includes, but is not limited to:
Connecting to the Destiny game service with any of the following:
Modified game software
Modified game assets
Modified hardware
Modified console firmware
Modified operating system files including emulators and virtual machines

Only if they're already good in PvP. If a mediocre player uses a K&M, it isn't going to help them much if at all. It isn't a universal advantage.
-
It is in Overwatch so it is in Destiny
-
4 RepliesXbox is getting keyboard and mouse support, so......

Yes, Mouse and Keyboard on Console gives players more control and lets players take advantage of Aim Assist. Conversely, controller users on PC are also cheating since controllers give players more control and lets players take advantage of Aim Assist. Moral of the story is that the PvP community will find any reason to bitch about any potential advantage given to their opponents. Playing on M&K doesn't make it any easier, some people just prefer it over controller. Just like how playing a racing game with a wheel doesn't give you any hard advantage in racing games, you're either better with a wheel or with a controller. But using one isn't significantly easier than the other.

6 RepliesIts probably harder to use at first but once you get good at it....damn. players using controllers have no chance.
-
1 ReplyIt's not exactly cheating but everyone...well most people would know that aiming with a mouse is faster and more accurate. So if everything else is equal then the mouse user is going to have a massive advantage. Making it an unfair and unbalanced advantage over the regular controller user. I'd say it's unfair to go against mouse and keyboard unless you're also on mouse and keyboard.

10 RepliesDesinty 2 has a turn rate cap on how fast you can move your cursor. And mice hit it stupid fast. Mouse snd keyboard really doesnt provide an advantage. If you move your mouse to fast it will drop your sensitivity to below 1.
-
The answer is No. Why would it be? Without some context its just someone using a different means to control the game.
-
11 Repliesdont people on pc use controller? Is that cheating too?
-
Xbox one will soon have official mouse and keyboard support and hardware.
-
Not really, but it is kind of wrong to do it in my opinion.
-
Bungie got big Badger B*lls. Badgers don't care. Bungie don't care.
-
Yes, they are cheaters, but they are only cheating themselves, because on console, using m&kb in a game that doesn’t support it puts you at a massive disadvantage.
-
2 RepliesSeeing that there are mouse and keyboards specifically being produced for the Xbox one I’d say no it’s not cheating.

Edited by Rage insanity: 11/25/2018 3:13:31 AMFYI mouse and keyboard in destiny 2 on xbox and ps4 are considered cheating and is bannable https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11929 Just looked it up. Don't believe me look it up. The adapter counts as an external device/emulator.
-
4 RepliesNo and no. I tried it. No way. I'll stick to a controller.
-
Yes but cheating is alright by bungie
-
5 RepliesXbox has keyboard support now so its not cheating(idk about ps4) but rather they(people) have the money to get a keyboard. If you want a keyboard sure go ahead and get one, you can beat keyboard users with controllers just be good lmao other then that complaining about it gets you nowhere when you can also get a keyboard.
-
I've never thought so. To me, it's always felt like the benefit of using a mouse and keyboard is minimal at best.
-
2 RepliesHori make a mouse and keyboard that is licensed by both Sony and Microsoft. If the console manufacturers thought it was cheating then they would not have licensed them.

1 ReplyWhat do you think?
